Poor Lindsey Graham. The moment he's been planning for months -- the South Carolina senator's annoucement that he's indeed a candidate to become the 45th president of the United States -- hit the exact same moment as a tsunami named Caitlyn Jenner. I think the cover of Vanity Fair with Jenner is a cultural moment that America will remember for 30, 40 years. The Graham campaign may be forgotten by the 2016 general election, if not sooner.
It's just hard to take Graham seriously, even if he is the only one of 19 potential GOP candidates who believes there's a role for humans in rolling back climate change. On foreign policy, the dude still wants to party like it's 2003, in his beloved country of orange terror alerts and bad guys hiding in your shrubbery.
Graham never met a war he didn't like, and it's not clear if he wants to be the next POTUS or commissioner of the Thought Police. He once said famously: "If I'm president of the United States and you're thinking about joining Al Qaeda or ISIL, I'm not gonna call a judge. I'm gonna call a drone and we will kill you." That's the kind of thing that won't get you to 1600 Pennsylvania Aveneue. but it may net Graham a few votes in Iowa or his home base, the Palmetto State.
And that kind of thing is a big problem for the GOP. With a looming vacancy in the Oval Office, there's little incentive for any and all manner of Republicans not to throw his or her hat into the ring. After all, running for president is a kind of fun job if you're on any kind of ego trip...

It’s laughable this PE putz talks about ‘ego trip’ in connection with the other side......that is the stock and trade soul of the Democrat Party.
the Bruce Jenner thing is a cultural moment? that’s a horrifying idea.
To me it was a “WTF?” moment.
I didn’t recognize him to start with and then I immediately thought about that commercial on TV with all the women walking around town in some new kind of Depenz underpants that was supposed to be sexy or something. The underpants he was wearing looked like them.
Poor Bruce. He’s about to get his finances seriously clocked by the civil suit resulting from his vehicle accident where that lady died. That’s gonna cost him some serious money so I guess he’s out earlier than he might have liked trying to drum up some money.
the whole thing is crazy lol. what the heck is going on in this country?
Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter... TMZ, E!, and Kardashians.....Maury, Jerry & Steve.......Siler, Jonap and the Cochran Firm.....Hands up, Black Lives & White Privilege....Real Housewives -Atlanta, New Jersey & New York...Party Down South, Redneck Games and PAWN......
the beat goes on.....la di da di da.....
There’s a “We didn’t Start the Fire” Billy Joel song in there somewhere.
boy that sums it up. throw in universities teaching white privilege.
I've observed that the mood of the country always takes its cue from the president. During Reagan, the country was all about macho. During Clinton, it was all about infidelity. During Bush, it was all about national defense. And now, it is all about pretending mental illness is normal.
When we get a new president, the mood will shift to something new. Maybe we will return to a more normal attitude towards sexually-related mental illness--tolerated, but not humored.
Graham is carrying water for Bush. His orders are to deliver South Carolina to Bush.
He’s also running so that he can obtain a legal election slush fund account that the US Chamber of Commerce can deposit to for reimbursing he and others on amnesty.
