Between Soros and Koch it is certain we will have the best government money can buy. If only Al Capp were alive the fun he could be having with this.

The pledge to fund multiple Republicans is consistent with what Charles Koch told USA Today in April about the candidacies of Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker, former Florida governor Jeb Bush, Texas Senator Ted Cruz, Kentucky Senator Rand Paul, and Florida Senator Marco Rubio. He indicated all six were at the top of the list in terms of who might receive funding.

That's five by my count.

After David Koch came out in support of Governor Walker (only to retreat after showing too much leg), this is the best possible move.

I heard some of the interview before the station had a problem and the signal was dropped.

David Koch is too libertarian for me. He is a social liberal. (I am not a huge fan of Kudlow for that matter.) But if he likes Cruz that is a good thing. That might go a long way explaining why Cruz voted for the trade deal. I’m not thrilled with that, but I’ll live with it if I get other things I want — unless a better option comes along.

I do respect their hesitation to support only one candidate. It seems too risky to put all your eggs in one basket this early, especially when you have as many “eggs” as they do.

Better their money than ours. If they are funding people we like, what’s the harm?

Big money funds candidates on the left, too. it just pays for a campaign. Voters still must vote. It beats raising your taxes to fund campaigns.

Regardless of all this, I do respect the Koch family for all the millions of dollars they give to worthy causes other than politics. They have a lot and they also give a lot. Obama wants to take it and give to his favorite causes and race (I was going to say “races” but he only has one favorite). I think those who earn it should get to choose. Obama would take 90% of their money and fund homo stuff, global warming nonsense, and give the rest to black rioters to rebuild the cities they burned down.

It will be funny when they are all running Koch-funded attack ads against each other.

The harm is that those people don’t care that we like them. They care about who gives them the money and they will be their puppets. Cruz isn’t alone as a puppet but he is a Koch puppet nonetheless.

Of course the Libtards are loaded with puppets too but since I’ll never vote for one, I simply don’t care.

I am not a believer in that puppet theory. They are like the rest of us in that they care who gets elected. If we were billionaires we would be no different. I would think political policies affect them more in some areas. The more you have the more you have to lose. I am at a point in my life where tax rates don’t matter. But I want NOTHING of a government that would swipe other people’s money in my name.

If the money were conditional then it would be given AFTER a favor was bestowed. This is campaign money and nothing more. I am grateful they give a lot so I don’t have to. In the interview David Koch said he gave 75 million to prostate cancer research. That is an issue important to me but I would NEVER have any significant money to give to it. These people are involved in the world around them and very generous. I don’t agree with them 100%, but I am grateful they give to candidates on the right. There are plenty of big donors on the left. It all evens out. Donations are to people who already agree with them, not to people they purchase a change of mind from.

Appreciate your position and your argument. I just disagree entirely. *shrug* No offense meant.

It is a pleasure to disagree with such a polite and articulate person. It’s good to understand different positions.
