RINDGE — U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, will visit Franklin Pierce University Friday, May 29, from 7 to 9 p.m. at Spagnuolo Hall on the Rindge campus. Cruz is scheduled to talk with students, faculty and the local community in a town hall-like event.

“We are pleased to be welcoming Senator Cruz to Franklin Pierce,” said Dr. Kristen Nevious, director of the Marlin Fitzwater Center for Communications at Franklin Pierce University, which is hosting the Cruz visit. “The Fitzwater Center is proud to be a prominent stop on the road to the White House. We look forward to welcoming candidates from both the Republican and Democratic parties as we bring forth the robust debate that is critical to the health of our nation's democracy and of vital interest to the Monadnock Region.”

Cruz is the third prominent Republican, but the first official 2016 presidential candidate, to visit the Franklin Pierce campus in the past few weeks. Former Gov. George Pataki and Rep. Peter King, both New York Republicans, have already visited the school and are both said to be contemplating a run for president in 2016.

The event is free and open to the public.

NO! Cruz voted for TPP...didn’t you hear? He has sold out...never mind that he is the highest rated Conservative in the Senate. Why would you want to see a corporatist RINO shill who sold us out! Can’t you see, the sky is falling and you MUST want to go see someone who is more qualified...

...or so, many Freepers would have you believe.

Go Cruz!

I know that he dislikes Ted Cruz. But, I didn’t think that he would have the chutzpah to run just to block Ted Cruz.

Franklin Pierce was a Democrat. Is this a sign of Ted Cruz's ability to reach across the aisle, or a sign that he isn't up on the political affiliations of obscure 19th-century Presidents?

Millard Fillmore, James Garfield, and Dwight Eisenhower were all college or university presidents at some point in their careers. I think there used to be a college named for Eisenhower which shut down. I don't think Fillmore or Garfield have colleges named for them, but Fillmore did inspire a cartoon character. Come to think of it, Garfield may have done the same.

Pataki is running ads here in soviet Red Hampshire stating that the GOP needs to forget about the social issues like abortion and sodomite marriage; that they are a ‘distraction’ that will only get Hillary! elected. The life of an unborn child...a ‘distraction’. Hope you like it warm, Pataki...you and your evil supporters.
