A Cruz/Martinez ticket is already one of the desired tickets many conservatives are banking on. But another advantage of a Cruz/Martinez ticket, both last names are in the top 20 most common Hispanic names in the United States. Martinez is in the top five, there may be a million or close to a million Martinez's in the USA. Cruz is in the second tier(10 to 20th most common). Now wouldn't anyone assume that aside from the general hispanic vote, Cruz/Martinez will already have the "Martinez/Cruz" vote already locked up. Why would any latino with either last name vote for an "All White Ticket"?
And that is a very, very tiny demographic.
The base is much larger.
I have a feeling Cruz will stick with the base, since that's where the votes are.

Possible but NM doesnt carry enough votes....Id not be surprised to see a Rubio/Cruz ticket Cruz/Rubio ticket...or perhaps Walker/Rubio....at this point its just a guessing game anyway.
right, thats the other possibility. I still have it down to Cruz/Rubio/Walker/Martinez. at least Cruz or Rubio will be on the ticket.
Here in Florida conservatives are working on the best way to get rid of Bush..If he winds Florida he wins the nom.
Who the hell is Martinez?
Suzanna Martinez. Gov. New Mexico. A lot of conservatives want her for VP.
But this all depends on who is on the Dems ticket. If Hillary loses during the primaries, and there is an all male ticket, we should win with a Cruz/Walker ticket.
I have a feeling Cruz will stick with the base, since that’s where the votes are.

Oh yeah, Johnny. That’s where the votes are unless the nominee is not their guy or gal then the “voters” become “No Shows”. The “base” is so splintered, who the hell even knows what constitutes the “base” anymore. Tell me please; who the hell is the “base”? Oh, I know: People who believe in smaller government, strong National Defense and the Free Market with lower taxes. Only problem with that is it all goes out the window when you throw Social Issues in the mix and their candidate doesn’t get the nomination. SCREW THE BASE!!!

Gov. Susana Martinez brings two things to the ticket: A female who is Hispanic. I’ve been promoting her long before she started “catching on”. FWIW, I was promoting Sarah Palin for VP even before John McCain won the nomination.
How do I sign up for that group? I agree, preventing Bush from winning Florida is all but essential.
Hoping he sputters out before then, but the worse it looks in FL, the more likely he is to sputter out in fundraising. The FL strategy didn’t work for Rudy, hopefully Jeb is just as irrelevant this time around. Florida sealed the deal for McCain and then all but sealed it for Romney. We can’t let that happen again.
I don’t think Cruz panders.

Hey, Cruz is my guy, but ALL politicians pander to someone or some group at one time or another.
it will be just like when Blacks voted for Obama soley cause he was black, even though he has never worked a day in his life!
I am pretty sure that the million or so Latinos whos last name is Martinez will vote for Martinez!
Bush..If he wins Florida he wins the nom.

I don’t think he will make it until Florida. He will NOT win Iowa. He will come in second or third in New Hampshire. He definitely will NOT win South Carolina. Nevada? Who knows? Then comes the SEC Primary March 1, 2016 with Texas, Georgia and other Southern States that are not “Jeb Friendly”. Jeb will NOT be the nominee.
i dont think jeb will even make the top 6 in any primary.
I will be excoriated here for what I’m about to say, but, here goes: If the GOP nominee is a White male, it would definitely be to our advantage to have a female Hispanic in the VP slot. For those who call this pandering or “Identity Politics”, say what you will but remember: We’ve lost 4 of the last 6 Presidential Elections.
That would be an interesting ticket.
The only places the Hispanic vote matter to Republicans are California, Florida and New York. There is no other place where Hispanic votes will change the election.
Question we should be asking is will blacks vote for a Cruz/Carson ticket? Or will they vote Hillary/Castro and call Carson an uncle Tom?
You’re not suggesting that Hispanics will vote in a racist manner by voting for other Hispanics, and then asking Freepers to agree with you, are you? That is something a troll would do.
Gov. Martinez’s state, New Mexico, is a purple state.
