Jeb Bush is breaking fundraising records. So why doesn't that scare anyone?
The Orlando Sun-Sentinel ^ | April 27, 2015 | Jamelle Bouie, Slate

In his four months as a not-quite-candidate for the Republican presidential nomination, Jeb Bush has raised stacks of cash. At a weekend meeting in Miami Beach, Florida, reports the Washington Post, the former Florida governor told 350 of his top donors that his super PAC, Right to Rise, has raised more money in its first 100 days than “any other Republican operation in modern history.” And while Bush wouldn’t specify the total, senior Republicans believe the super PAC is on track to raise $100 million by May’s end, dwarfing first-quarter totals from George W. Bush—who raised $37 million in the first four months of 1999—and Mitt Romney, who raised $23 million in the first quarter of 2007..

Jeb Bush’s total is astounding. But it also belies an important difference among him, his brother, and even Mitt Romney. In presidential politics, fundraising is as much about signaling strength as it is building resources. Dubya’s multimillion-dollar haul did more than fund a campaign: It made him the most dominant candidate in the race, dissuading some Republicans from taking the risk and shutting others—like former Tennessee Gov. Lamar Alexander—out of the competition. Build enough of this party strength, and—like George W. Bush—you can coast to the nomination sans a serious challenge. And even if you can’t, you can at least influence the caliber of your opponents. That was the case in 2011, when Romney wasn’t so strong as to be unbeatable, but he was strong enough to discourage the strongest Republicans from running in a year when—given an incumbent president—the odds weren’t especially in the GOP’s favor....

Because he could pay for hour long ads on TV every night and no one is going to vote for him. He could sit on a huge pile of gold like Yertle the Turtle and no one is interested. Why? What’s he got going for him? What does he believe in? CLEARLY he thinks it is good for this country to have a royal family. How the bleep can anyone agree with him on that?

Jeb Bush spends $ 100 million trying to destroy either Cruz or Walker means the death of the GOP ...

However, I’m not sure Jeb could survive if either Cruz or Walker endorsed the other ... just to defeat Jeb at the polls ...

He’ll be running as a Republican and isn’t seen as the choice of those most committed to the party, the conservatives. The bankers, lawyers, big business, and other are not the majority now. It’s the conservatives who will pick the winner.

He’ll get support from the 1%, and end up with 1% of the vote.

let’s not be so quick to discount the effect round the clock ads can have towards the end of the race. We both know the people are sheeple.
lets not be terrified, but we must keep funding Cruz.

Because anyone with a lick of sense knows that Jeb Bush cannot possibly win.

I will vote for Hitlery before I vote for Jeb. Jeb needs to shut up and go away. He can only cause damage to the nation. He cannot do anything positive at this point.

I wonder how many donations he is receiving from the Left. I wouldn’t be surprised to discover some Soros money in the mix.

There are strong and very wealthy factions on “BOTH” sides that do not want to see any change, especially a return to Constitutional government. Cheap labor, endless wars and certain votes from the “Gimmedats” propel their interests and therefore their donations. The Agenda 21’ers are prominent.

If they Rino slam dunk the convention with Jeb ahead of time, can We the People show up by the millions and storm the convention?

We have become so used to the big money rinos giving money to the most rino candidate that it was expected that bush and rubio would share a bunch of gop money.

I’ll bet the rules somehow allow the Dauphin to “gift” his campaign money to his mini-me.

I think a lot of his big money contributions came in before it became apparent that he is not generating enthusiasm.. Any honest analysis of polls acknowledges that the reason his poll numbers are as high as they are is simple name recognition. Only politcal junkies are really paying attention this early, but they are not buying what Bush is selling. Once his positions get known to the general voting public, they’re not going to buy it either.

hey you suckers who think we live in a democratic republic.... THINK AGAIN....

nomination and election goes to (he/she/it/unsure) who RAISES THE MOST CAMPAIGN MONEY.... and sells the hollywood image to the dumbed down amerikan voter, or in the case of dems, the voter who votes thrice....

so tell me who has more money and i will tell you the outcome of the election and spoil all the hot air lies and “fun”....
