A clear front-runner for the GOP presidential candidate doesnt exist right now, but Sen. Ted Cruzs name is thrown into almost any discussion about who might fill the slot.
A recent CNN-Orc International poll found Mitt Romney, who says hes not going to run, at the top of 2016 candidates, with 20 percent of the responders pointing to him as their preferred candidate. The rest of the field was packed pretty closely, with activist Ben Carson at 10 percent, followed by stair steps down Jeb Bush, 9 percent; Chris Christie, 8 percent; and Mike Huckabee with 7 percent. Cruz came in the middle of the pack with 5 percent.
As Cruz considers the idea of running for president in 2016, here are four issues that might offer hurdles for the presidential hopeful:
Experience. Yes, President Barack Obama was elected for two terms after just one term in the Senate, but can Cruz pull off such a win? As the junior Texas senator elected in 2012, Cruz has made a strong stand on numerous issues close to conservative hearts immigration and the Affordable Care Act, for instance. But his latest stance against immigration, even going against his party members, may show the risks he runs of alienating Republicans.
Cruz, in just two years as the Hotspur of the Senate floor and committee rooms, may have already set a record for rapid alienation of colleagues on both sides of the aisle, NPR wrote about Cruzs fight against executive amnesty. 5 . trying to get the intrenched Obama’s out of the White House
I’m all in!
Such heartfelt concern for Ted Cruz from the ‘publicans. I’m getting misty eyed from the emotion of it all.
My view is hardening. Cruz is my only choice. I am no longer GOP.
It Cruz or Cruz.
Cruz control 2016: get out the way or get run over!
Cruz it or Lose it!
Perfect!
4 non-issues.
It’s all they’ve got. He’s everything (and more) that Barack Obama was advertised to be, but really wasn’t.
Always great to have the same perspective as you.
Cruz just has to speak and be heard to change minds. That is why they are so scared of him.

Recent events have just hardened my resolve to vote for Ted Cruz for POTUS in 2016. How ‘bout you?
IMHO, the four hurdles mentioned in this article will not affect the enthusiasm for Ted Cruz one iota.
NewsMax i’ve found is no friend to conservatives.
I hope it is Cruz too. Tne MSM will be out to destroy him though. I would be able to accuse the lib co-workers of being racist.
He's our last chance of saving the republic.
I am coming to the same conclusion. I like Scott a Walker a lot, but he is not getting out there on the national stage enough to make his name known.
Isn’t he something of a squish on amnesty and ACA?
Cruz is over the target and taking heavy flak.
Godspeed, Mr. Cruz, and now complete your mission.
