Like it or not, it took Republicans four election cycles to retake the Senate majority after losing it in 2006. Once the majorities are attained, seniority still rules in both houses. Furthermore, a minority of 41 senators can bring the Senate to its legislative knees with filibusters, and the normal divisions of the country usually do not award the majority party 60-vote control. Democrats had 60 votes for 60 days during 2009 and 2010; Republicans haven’t been able to break a filibuster by their own votes alone since the Andrew Johnson administration.

If that’s not enough, there is always the president. To override a presidential veto requires two-thirds majorities in both houses. Of the 1,497 vetoes in U.S. history, Congress has managed to override just 110. The country hasn’t elected a veto-proof Congress since 1964, and it has never raised up a veto-proof Congress to oppose an elected president of the other party....

This stuff is crack cocaine to us political geeks.

Hear that all you naysayers? Yet vetoes are overridden. Now of all times is no time for timidity and excuses.

"New Campaign" - should be waged by every freedom-loving American:

UP with the voluntary cooperation of the FREE MARKET ECONOMY - the wealth-creating market economy free of government interference.

By definition, that means DOWN with the coercive, unconstitutional $4,000,000,000,000 government, cutting it by AT LEAST 80% (still too big, but its a start) and a flat tax of around 10% (and fire most of the IRS in the process - don't need 'em).

Republicans have several goals:

1) Strategically make Obama look as bad as possible. Make him veto a million well thought out and well explained bills. Show you want to govern responsibly but are being blocked by the nutty Marxist president.

2) Pass an immigration bill that SECURES THE BORDER FIRST! Obama will have to actually veto the bill this time, hurting him with Hispanics.

3) Continue taking the message to minority communities. This is beginning to bear fruit.

4) Continue consolidating blue collar whites. This is hurting Democrats more than anything else. We cannot win the presidency without getting any minority votes, but similarly the Democrats cannot win the presidency without any white votes. The Democrats are totally out of touch with white interests.

5) GO AFTER HILLARY. Rand Paul has already begun slicing into cankles. We need to totally discredit her with Benghazi hearings

As for conservatives, our goals are a little more specific.

1) Prepare for the upcoming presidential debates and campaigning. We NEED to coalesce around a solid conservative and make sure the RINOs can’t divide and conquer like they did last time. Jeb and Krispy must be STOPPED.

2) Start recruiting conservatives to unseat moderates in the House. There really aren’t any competitive Rat seats left. We took almost all of them on Tuesday. It is time to kick guys like Mike Simpson out of office. If Eric Cantor can fall, so can Mike.

3) Start recruiting conservatives to unseat moderates in the senate. I’m not suggesting taking out Ayotte. That would be stupid and we’d lose the seat already in danger. But McShame has to go and we are in a better position than we were in 2010. He is the least popular senator in the country. MurCOWski and Isakson are also plum targets in deep red states.

4) Recruit conservatives to take the open seats in deep red states. Vitter is retiring to pursue the governorship in Louisiana. Rob Maness? Orin Hatch is retiring in Utah. Chaffetz? Don’t be surprised if Cochran becomes too dementia-ridden to continue on in Mississippi either.

5) RINOs are plotting to unseat Mike Lee in Utah. We must thwart them, since the process is not a vote but a party nomination.

6) Of course, HOLD THE LINE in the House against Obama’s radical agenda and his enablers.
