BILOXI, Mississippi -- U.S. Senator and former Republican presidential nominee John McCain will campaign for his longtime colleague Thad Cochran this weekend on the Mississippi coast.
McCain and Cochran will make an appearance somewhere in the Biloxi/Gulfport area on Sunday. The time and place are still being determined, according to Adam Buckalew with the Cochran campaign.
In a bit of political irony, McCain's former running-mate, Sarah Palin, has endorsed Cochran's opponent, state Sen. Chris McDaniel of Ellisville.
Cochran and McCain have served together in the U.S. Senate for the past 27 years.
Also, late Wednesday the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, which has endorsed Cochran, released an ad featuring NFL legend and native Mississippian Brett Favre:

Maybe John can pull out one of those lists he used to create of the most outrageous pork barrel spending projects in the budget and read it at the event. I bet Old Thad’s projects will be on it a bunch of times.

McCain is 77. Cochran is 76. McDainiel is 41. The tea party may not have all the time in the world, but it does have time on it’s side.
Sarah Palin is barely 50, Ted Cruz and Mike Lee are both 43, and Dave Brat is 49.
Perhaps he can regale the folks with Keating Five stories.
If McCain wants it, it can’t be good for us, or the country. McCain does what is best for Democrats.
