Multiple liberal news outlets use a false narrative of Washington Naval Yard shooter, Aaron Alexis, used an AR-15 in his attacks. Piers Morgan, the New York Daily News, and CNN, among a host of others having been playing up the AR-15 angle in an effort to revive their gun banning laws.
Reliable sources have reported that Alexis had a shotgun and two pistols. it is believed he brought the shotgun and removed the two pistols from his victims. The real question is how could someone with a long history of mental problems get access to such a secure area. That is the same question people mare asking about Nidal Malik Hasan, the Fort Hood shooter.

In 2011, according to FBI , there were 321 murders of all kinds committed by rifles was 321 out of about 8775 total from guns of kinds.
Out of that 321 something less than 30 were by AR 15s.
Most gun related murders are by pistols.
Many more people were murdered by knives or by bare hands that by rifles of all kinds and the number of people murdered by AR15 and other “assault rifles” is so small as to be statistically insignificant.
While they are not used in any significant fashion to commit murders, AR15s are a very effective for home and self defense, which is probably the reason the gun grabbers are so hot to ban them
the guy had a histpory of a mental health problem

that - how to get real help for those with mental health issues and real security from them for everyone else - is the real issue that needs a modern update, not “gun control”
And I didn’t hear any retractions. In fact most of the MSM whores alluded to the non-fact that all the guns were purchased at a gun store in Virginia. In fact, they made a point not to describe the shotgun (probably wasn’t a military style assault shotgun).
