Via NRO, hes careful not to endorse gay marriage himself but he sure does seem chipper at the beginning about the inroads Portmans allegedly made with gay voters. Meanwhile, back in Ohio
I think [the RNC] should pretty much ignore [Portman], says Phyllis Schlafly, a longtime conservative activist, in an interview with National Review Online. I think he has made a mistake, and he probably wont get reelected.
A source familiar with Ohioans response to Portmans decision tells NRO that 60 percent of the calls the office received were against Portmans shift and 40 percent of calls received were in support
[National Organization for Marriage President Brian] Brown believes the RNC should withhold financial support from Portman and any other senators who change their views to support gay marriage. The grassroots of the party are 100 percent committed to protecting marriage, to protecting life, the whole platform, he says, and you cant just kick them to the curb.

Good ol' Rancid Prius. Who found that guy, the Bushes or Romney?
They only limit support for conservatives
Priebus must GO! Why do we keep re-electing LOSERS! Maybe he’s a BUSH plant!
Knowing the RNC, they’d get Karl Rove to replace him.
Or Matt Dowd or some other Log Cabin Republican to be named later.
That’s a real possibility and I wouldn’t doubt it.
I’ve heard “whispers” that Karl fits into that category, but have seen no proof.
I was being facetious and serious at the same time. Rove is such a -rick.
Did Priebus get permission from his boyfriend to say that?
I have been a registered Republican for over 30 years. My first vote was for Reagan in 1980. Over all those years, I have often disagreed with the GOP, but have kept my registration so that I could vote in primaries. I have donated to the GOP and to local candidates, and helped to work on elections.
No longer. In CA, we now have the “top 2” primary system, so I don’t have to registered in either party to vote in the primaries. And so I will change my registration from GOP to “Decline to state”. Any donation I give will be to individual candidates, but I will not support the party or the Republican Congressional or Senate campaign committees.
What Reagan once said of the Dems, I now say about the GOP: “I didn’t leave them - they left me.”
Reince Priebus is a wussy idiot.
The GOP must be CONSERVATIVE.
TEA Party CONSERVATIVE to win elections.
I hope all the freepers that were touting Reince “nobody can pronounce my name” Priebus for RNC chairman have buyer’s remorse by now. He may have done a solid job as Wisconsin GOP chairman, but he’s been a disaster at the national level. It’s a shame Katon Dawson or Ken Blackwell didn’t get it.
The RNC is FOR ObamaCARe/RomneyCARE,
criminial illegals, and themselves. THEMSELVES.
Priebus is a creature of Haley Barbour.
“Reince Priebus: Rob Portmans gay marriage position wont limit the RNCs support for him at all”
SharpRightTurn: Reince Priebus’s and the RNC’s support of Rob Portman and other sellouts will result in a continuation of my complete embargo of financial support of the Republican Party.
“I don’t think Portman can win - however, the Party leadership must submit to the will of the Primary voters.”
Yeah, tell that to Todd Akin.
It’s a shame Rinse Prepuce was just handed a second term on a platter. After this failure of an election I would fire the party boss if he was my best friend.
If only Dawson had defeated that fool Steele in 2009.
