It takes great moral fortitude to stand ones ground under significant adversity. The grandpa had a gun and I am for the 2A is easy to say, but when hammered by liberals and popular opinion of low information voters a choice presents itself. Do I keep my job, or do I stand on a story about grandpa when I do not have deeper core convictions other than wanting to do the right thing?
What I am writing, every so delicately, is that some TEA party politicians really are not that deep ... just like most people are not really that deep. They start off doing the right thing and it morphs to place that they never anticipated.
Yup, that’s why while I sympathize with many of their objections, I found the whole effort to be rather populist and simple-minded.
Politics isn’t just a single issue.
