Based on Taegan's "logic" either former Governor Sarah Palin or Rep. Paul Ryan will be the next Republican nominee. No one else except former Vice President Dick Cheney really fits the bill. Or did I miss something?

Amnesty, Amnesty, Amnesty.

Plus doing nothing about the deficit, lack of strong support for the 2nd Amendment, etc.

Rubio is a very possible nominee. He’ll beat Christie as much more appealing to the base. The only possible contenders besides Rubio are: Paul Ryan, Scott Walker, Kasich (who’s blowing it right now with the Medicare implementation), or Jindal. Jeb Bush is a possibility, but I doubt Rubio and Bush would both get in the race. They go way back. If Jeb is running, Rubio would probably defer and endorse. I feel like Rubio would out do most of those guys as a much stronger and more dynamic person.

I can’t think of any other likely nominees, outside of that list. I like all of the above on the list (although do not want any more Bushes in the White House).

He’s a young guy. Could use a decade of seasoning.

Even RR wouldn’t have been a good President at 41.

Three reasons:

1. Mama Bush
2. Papa Bush
3. Brother Bush

Rubio’s pro-amnesty stance makes him the best D candidate.

He is dead to me.

These people need to stick 2016 up their lofty butts.

And, we need to concentrate on winning CONSERVATIVE landslides in 2014.

If Rubio runs he has a very good chance at winning the nomination. There is going to be such enormous pressure on the party to do better with Hispanics that Marco starts out with a huge advantage. Unlike 2012, there will likely be a very serious, competitive field of GOP primary candidates (Rubio, Jindal, Christie, Ryan, etc). Like 2012, Sarah Palin will not be one of those candidates.

Much as I wish it weren’t true, the possibility of a GOPer being elected to the White House is essentially nil. This is a D+6 national electorate that will likely expand to D+8 by 2016. The GOP’s strength is in statehouses.

Neither Rubio nor “seasoned politicians like Chris Christie, Bobby Jindal, Rick Perry, and Paul Ryan” will ever be receiving my vote. If the GOPe rigs things so that a conservative can’t be the nominee, and they foist their RINOs upon us, I will be writing in Palin/West once again.

Rubio would be just as well to have RINO tattoed on his forehead.

I could care less about who they stick in as nominee unless it is a Sarah Palin or someone of that nature. Rubio should stay in the Senate and stay put. As for the rest of them, who cares. They will dangle Jeb Bush and all the Rino’s will jump. Heard a political figure today on radio from Florida, Lou Fry and he said they will put up Jeb and Rubio. Makes me want to puke quite frankly. Also answers the reason why I dropped out of the REC of my county. So over this crap.

His logic stinks ... there’s no “next in line” available at this point. Odds are now in favor of Christie / Rubio ticket...Christie hugely popular (pun intended) and Rubio is in for seasoning...this is your new Republican Party, same as the old Republican Party...

1. It's
2. Jeb's
3. turn
