CONCORD, N.C. Former Pennsylvania Gov. Ed Rendell warned Democrats today that the Republican attack alleging that President Barack Obama gutted the welfare work requirement is taking hold.
"Its starting to resonate," he told the Maryland delegation at a breakfast. "Its starting to affect blue-collar white voters.
Rendell predicted that pushing back on the widely criticized attack will be a central component of the last Democratic president's speech.
"I think the man that will push back on it will be the man that pushed for it and signed it President Bill Clinton," Rendell said, "but he can't do it alone."
Rendell repeatedly leveled the "liar" charge at GOP vice presidential nominee Paul Ryan, beginning with his false claim that he ran a sub-3:00 marathon.
Thats not a tiny little mistake folks," Rendell said, turning it into a broader narrative about Ryan's character. "Paul Ryan cant seem to tell the truth about anything.
"He cant seem to stay out of trouble," he added about Ryan.
Asked why the welfare attack is working, a concerned Rendell told BuzzFeed, "If you repeat a lie enough times and put enough money behind it, then people start believing it."
LOL, get a load of THAT, Ed Rendell thinks that Paul Ryan is a democrat!
300% inflation in average familes energy costs in the last 4 years, 23 million unemployed, manufacturing sector contracting for the 3rd month in a row Iran on the verge of getting a Nuke bomb and these idots are worried about a MARATHON TIME from 20 years ago?
I guess when your candidate is like Obama, totally intellectually and morally bankrupt you have nothing left to offer but diversion and hysteria in the vain hopes it will distract voter attention off of Obamas 4 year reign of corruption, incompetence and bankruptcy
If you ever have any questions about lies and liars, Fast Eddie is the man to see.
I've noticed that the "Old Clinton Guard" such as Fast Eddy Rendell have been subtely questioning and undermining the hard core Obama team lately. I think they smell blood in the water and want to distance themselves from Obama before he loses this November, so they can say "We told you so! You should have picked Hillary in 2008." If Obama is down after the debates you are going to see them go into full tilt rebellion to position Hillary for 2016.
Some of their kind are sorta nice when they are in control... make no mistake, though, Rendell is just as much a blathering, rip-his-hair-out fool as anyone you can point to at MethNBC, when it looks gloomy for them.
I’ll give him one thing - he sure knows about lying and if a lie is repeated enough - people start to believe it. The Dems are experts at this, so, he speaks from experience.
Now, let’s fact check obama’s lie list, shall we? Its far more detrimental to this country than a mistake Ryan made.
These people are pathetic!
it works, ed, because it is true.
That's not the issue, the issue is Ryan Paul's marathon time!
Fast Eddie appears to have built his career on chutzpah, and little else.
Talk about lying. Didn't Slick Willie veto it twice and only reluctantly sign it because Al said it might cost him votes if he didn't?
“Talk about lying. Didn’t Slick Willie veto it twice and only reluctantly sign it because Al said it might cost him votes if he didn’t? “
Exactly. Clinton and the Dems have this nasty habit of taking credit for the Republican Congress of the Clinton years bailing him out and getting the economy going after he floundered for his first 2 years. The Republican Congress was going to pass it over his dead political body after he vetoed it twice. And even when he signed it to enhance his reelection chances he told complaining libs in Congress not to worry that when they had a majority they could defang it. Only time the guy ever told the truth.
Sounds like someone is projecting
