Free speech or offensive?
Those are two viewpoints regarding three political billboards in Hanson that are getting the attention of everyone who drives by Sullivans Inc., a motorcycle accessories distributor off Route 27.
One shows a little girl raising her middle finger next to the message:
Thanks Obama. Youve spent my lunch money, my allowance, my inheritance, 35 years of future paychecks and my retirement. You Jerk. Vote Mitt Romney For 2012!
The finger is now covered in packing tape.
Some people say the sign makes them uncomfortable.
Its being offensive, one man told WBZ NewsRadio 1030 Thursday. I think you can send out the message without being this drastic.
Others say its free speech...

Class, here’s your homework assignment for tonight: compare and contrast the reactions to this billboard, and any “Pride” parade of your choice.
free speech. plain and simple.
has nothing to do with good taste or upbringing.
we are free, not free from being offended.
personally, the use of children in vulgar displays turns me off, if she were just pouting, the message would be better.
IMHO

Øbama is offensive.
Maybe it’s the truth of the sign that offends this Obama voter.
Obama and truth are strangers.
Why all the concern about being “offensive”? nobama and his anti-Free-America mi9nions ar5e uber-offensive for what they continue to do to America.
Remember the day, not that long ago, when almost no one would’ve questioned his right to put up a sign, no matter how much someone else disagreed with it?
Oh, the huge manatee!
Perhaps Code Pink (wackos) in their vagina costumes are more acceptable to Liberals voters?
“If you want to know who controls you, find out who you are not permitted to insult.”
Free speech.
There’s no right against being offended, and liberals need to be offended often.
Now THAT's offensive.
"Okay, sweetie, now give the camera the finger. That's it! And again....."
I wouldnt have liked it if they'd done it, either.
lol
Yes, the vulgarity was not needed to get the point across, a little hand wiping away a tear would have been preferable. They should have added a handkerchief to the board to make her look like she was using it to wipe away a tear.
I am old enough to remember when a billboard showing a child shooting the bird would have been brought down immediately by conservative Americans.
I remember a college art exhibit displaying Bush 41 sitting on the can. You should have seen all the first ammendment defenders come out of the woodwork. Had it been a Dem...not so much.
Especially if it criticized you lord and master, right?
