Convention speeches: Ann Romney vs. Chris Christie
Vanity | 8/28/2012 | The Rhinelander

Posted on 08/28/2012 8:30:43 PM PDT by TheRhinelander

The buzz is that Ann Romney's speech was off the charts and that Chris Christie's speech was moderately good but didn't have the red meat people wanted. I tend to disagree. Christie's speech was fantastic but in a much more subtle way. He showed the stark differences. Thoughts?

Don’t let the wackos get you down, Vet! I’ve never seen so many bigots, drunks and loons on one thread ... And I’ve been here awhile!

In regards to the Christian denominations and the correct teaching on Mormonism, it seems that they all agree.

The Greek Orthodox, the Southern Baptists, the Methodists, the Presbyterians, the Catholics, the Lutherans, all agree that Mormonism is a different religion, created by Joseph Smith, and that it is not a part of the Christian family.

Ann Romney’s speech and this thread had absolutely nothing to do with Mormonism. But you can’t figure that out.

You cannot separate Mormon royalty from their life, and their life is Mormonism, that is why Bishop Romney sought the approval of his Holy Prophet before running for the presidency.

“I just don’t see Mitt being worse than Barry in any way!!!
I would feel a lot safer with Mitt in the Oval Office!!!!!

And I cannot imagine Mitt Romney with his feet propped up on WH furniture”

Absolutely, lonestar.

Time for R and R..

Rid the Oval Office of the anti American Marxist.

Juan Williams is a jackwagon.

Wow... you can say that again. I'm still stunned over Juan Williams' comments tonight about Ann Romney.

Good discussion going on here:

‘Real reporter’ and real sexist Juan Williams attacks Ann Romney as ‘corporate wife’

Sorry, FRiend. We disagree on that one. The G.I. Bill was the absolute least we could do to repay the blood and sacrifice made by those who defended freedom in our stead.

We are all screwed and it’s going to be very bad. God I hope I’m wrong,.

Every sane person will hope you are wrong but I'm inclined to agree with your assessment. We can't add $1 trillion a year to the debt without consequence.

The very sad part is that the GOP did nothing to reduce the deficit when they were in power. The one true deficit hawk in the GOP was just dissed at the convention, his supporters snubbed. They might not like Ross Perot but that is a hell of a way to win an election getting them all mad like that.

Christie's words are a mirror the GOP needs to look into.

It really confuses me why some Freepers want to see Obama occupy the White House for another 4 years. So much so, they actively campaign against their own nominee.

90% of Christi’s speech was about himself! I thought it sucked. It contained nothing to hammer Obama or promote Romney. ...Sure, he’s a good speaker, but a Keynote speaker at a political convention is supposed to rally the crowd to the Party and the candidate.

Have seen examples of this in another post on the forum. Example, he paid for the education of a deceased friends children.
***********************
Then, there’s the item I read some time back on FR and heard about on talk radio: He owned some rental houses and contacted a married couple that had been faithful renters for many years to ask if they’d like to buy the house. They said yes, but due to their credit status they would be unable to obtain a mortgage loan.

Mitt called them back and said he would personally give them a $50,000 loan to allow them to buy the modest house.
