Sarah Palin doesn’t deserve this. Neither does any other similarly situated public figure, whether on the political right, left or in the middle. But worthiness has nothing to do with this, not when there’s a chance of driving up book sales and bringing down the celebrity you despise at the same time.
Enter Joe McGinniss.
His new book, “The Rogue: Searching for the Real Sarah Palin,” claims that the former Alaska governor and GOP vice presidential candidate had a tryst in 1987 with basketball star Glen Rice when he was in Alaska to play in a tournament with his University of Michigan team. Whether it’s true or false, the story is making the rounds. It’s a shame.
If the book was supposed to be about Sarah Palin, then it should have been about Palin.
This episode isn’t. There was no Sarah Palin in 1987. At the time of the Thanksgiving Great Alaska Shootout basketball tournament at the University of Alaska in Anchorage nearly 25 years ago, the 23-year-old woman who allegedly hooked up with Rice was an unmarried TV sports reporter named Sarah Heath.
This has nothing to do with today’s Sarah Palin. It’s irrelevant and none of our business.
To justify McGinniss’s prying eyes, my Post colleague Erik Wemple, who blogs on the media, noted that Palin had indicated in a 2006 Eagle Forum questionnaire that she supported funding abstinence-only education programs instead of teaching sex-education programs. “Explicit sex-ed programs will not find my support,” Palin reportedly wrote in the conservative group’s questionnaire.....

This author goes on to call Sarah a narcissist and an opportunist..isn’t a narcissist someone who only cares about themselves..how the hell can someone think of Sarah Palin that way, when has she ever shown she only cares about herself..and an opportunist..please, she is speaking the TRUTH about the empty suited marxist in chief. I feel horrible for her, her life is a living hell..every single day she has to deal with crap like this, people wanting to kill her, dealing with smear after smear..when is it going to end? probably never..From day 1, before anyone knew who she was, the media was attacking her, it took 2 seconds after her name was announced for them to go after her..they don’t go after anyone like they do her, because she can win..I don’t care what ANY poll says, she can win
You know this kind of reminds me of Karl Rove’s hit piece on John McCain back in 2000. Remember, they got some fake group to hand out brochures that McCain had fathered a black baby, and then adopted it? When his daughter was an adopted baby from like Sri Lanka or somewhere?

Why vet her, according to your PDS’ers - she’s not running. Why not a book on Mitt or Cain or MB?

She is a direct threat to the money making machine in DC and they - and I believe it’s both entrenched sides in Congress, business, and lobbyists - decided to literally destroy her. One good person from Wasilla, Alaska who dared to speak the truth and who could have been predicted to bring back some shreds of honesty to DC is put through a meat grinder like I’ve never seen.

Yeah our society is sick and corrupted. But doesn’t this stuff go on all the time in politics? All’s fair as some say. Someone wants to make money at the expense of others. That’s capitalism and is what makes us tick according to some. Greed and avarice are good, etc etc. (I don’t agree btw).
Whether it is Palin or Kerry there will be someone wanting to get rich writing a tell all book to make sure their target subject pays a political price. When one gets into politics, you put your head on the chopping block.

McGinniss sounds like another one of those tutu-wearing girlymen who is afraid of strong women. I imagine he does faint though every time Barry reads from a teleprompter.

Yep I agree..the second her name was announced the media already had their army together to try to dig up anything to destroy her. They thought the election was a slam dunk, but then when Sarah Palin appeared they freaked out, they knew it wasnt going to be so easy now, so they trashed and smeared and they have continued to do it to this day. Heck it’s gotten even worse..how Sarah is able to get up every morning and take all of this crap is truly amazing. We have to take this country back, because just like I told people before the election, if Obama wins, we won’t recognize this country anymore after a few years and I was right..the media, the progressives, the communists have all come out of the woodwork, I guess they figure they have nothing to lose now..we have to take this country back from these vermin before its too late
