A “mama grizzly” for president?
Fav Stocks ^ | March 20, 2011 | Jennifer Caballero

Speaking to a group involving policy talk on Latin America, Hillary Clinton said it’s about time the United States has a female president.

Although she may be talking in the general sense, one can’t help but speculate whether she is talking about Governor Sarah Palin or Representative Michele Bachmann. Both women seem to have interests in 2012. When it came to Palin, Hillary never uttered a bad word about her, nor vice-versa.

Via Politico:

“I must say, I’m far enough away from my own career in electoral politics that I will not take too much heat for suggesting that these women and societies can teach American voters a thing or two.”

I think America knows who they want to elect regardless of race or gender. We want a qualified person in office. If that person happens to be a female, all the better.

It was President Richard Nixon who once said that the party that will get a female elected to the presidency would be the Republican party. 2012 might be that year!

I seriously doubt it.

I once said that this countries first black president and first female president would both be Republicans... I was wrong on the first account and I may well be wrong on the second.. the American people are just too stupid to foresee the damage that both would cause...

If Hillary is saying that then she is considering running.

Hillary is Obama, there is really no difference.

Its funny when Palin said the same thing, many Freepers here jumped all over the Governor for using identity politics. My guess is that they will be no where to be found on this thread which is very disturbing for a so called conservative blog site.

It was identity politics and still is, regardless of who is using it.

If someone like Alan West were to someday become President, he truly would be the country's first black President.

Someone else pointed that out here on FR the other day, I forget who it was.

Obama, regardless of questions about his birthplace and parentage, is clearly mixed race, no more than half black. He also clearly did not have an African-American upbringing. (In terms of upbringing, Bill Clinton may very well have been more "black" than Obama).

Rep. West was born black, grew up black, and seems to have made it rather inconsequential in his life.

I can’t imagine Her Thighness loving this country enough to want Palin or Bachmann in charge. Either she wants the job or else she’s grooming Mooochelle to be the first shemale klingon president.

I highly doubt that if Hillary said a woman should be President, that she was talking about anyone but herself.

Its probably because no one would be shocked that a democrat is using identity politics, but a lot of conservatives dont want a conservative nominee playing that game.

Did you expect everbody to get here to this thread before your Post Number 4?

It is Affirmative Action B.S. when Sarah Palin says it and it is Affirmative Action B.S. when Hillary Clinton says it.

When some people voted for Obama because of the color of his absent father's skin, that was also Affirmative Action B.S.

If Obama's father had been a white Norwegian graduate student named Olsen and if Sarah Palin had been born a male named Richard, Barry Olsen would still be a do-nothing Legislator in the Illinois Legislature and John McCain would never have picked Richard Heath, with only two years of experience as Governor of a State with half the population of San Diego, as the nominee for Vice President of the United States.

If Hillary Clinton had not been married to Bill Clinton, nobody would have considered her as a Presidential candidate.

Hillary Clinton, Barack Obama and Sarah Palin were all Affirmative Action candidates that were not held to the same standards as white males.

Palin supporters still do not hold her to the same stadards as they would hold a white male.

Why?

Because she is sooooooo CUTE!!!

That is also Affirmative Action B.S.

To 15 - You're correct in regard to some Palin supporters, but I'd say she still would have been the Veep nominee if she looked more like Jeane Kirkpatrick than 'Sarah Palin'.
A heckuva lot of Palin's appeal is due to her charisma and mindset, rather than her appearance.

Charisma?

Not years of executive experience? (Mayor of a town of 6,000 or "Community Organizer" doesn't really count outside of Affirmative Action circles.) Not foreign policy expertise? Not fund of knowledge? Not a long track record in actual office?

Just .... "Charisma and mindset"?

It's deja vu all over again.

When I was 5 years old in 1959, a very large percentage of the adults where I lived were just drooling over some guy with a ton of charisma. His name was Fidel Castro. By late 1960, the charisma had worn off and a very large number of those same adults moved to Miami.

President HOPE & CHANGE® had a ton of charisma too.

I won't mention somebody else to avoid Godwin's Law. He also had a ton of charisma

To vote for somebody because of skin color or gender is Affirmative Action.

To vote for somebody because of "Charisma" is just putting your brain on "Pause".

Oh, what the hell. Godwin's Law be damned. Let's see the reaction to CHARISMA!!!!

BS. She's held to such extremely high standards that the only thing she can be attacked for is her looks. Stop slinging meadow muffins and try meat and potatoes sometime.
