Gay rights champion aims to become Republican presidential candidate
The London Guardian ^ | February 13, 2011 | Paul Harris in New York

Posted on 02/12/2011 8:16:22 PM PST by 2ndDivisionVet

Fred Karger walked into a coffee shop in Manhattan looking every inch the sort of man who wants to be a Republican presidential candidate.

The long-time "Grand Old Party" operative, who has served three different Republican presidents, had close-cropped grey hair and wore a sharp blue business suit. He clutched a folder of campaign literature and handed out a T-shirt emblazoned with "Iowa 2012". But one key detail made Karger a little different in a Republican field swirling with names like Jeb Bush, Mitt Romney, Sarah Palin and Mike Huckabee. On his suit lapel Karger wore a badge pairing the Stars and Stripes with the rainbow colours of the gay rights movement.

Karger, 61, whose 2012 presidential exploratory committee is perhaps the furthest advanced of any potential Republican candidate, is openly gay. When he officially declares his run, he will not only be the first gay Republican presidential candidate but also the first such candidate from any political party in American history. "I am a fighter and I am trying to change the Republican party and to open it up to everybody. If every gay person left the Republican party and went to the Democrats, that would be stupid. I believe in smaller federal government and personal responsibility just like my hero, Ronald Reagan," Karger said over a chicken salad sandwich and a cola.

There is no doubting Karger's Republican credentials....

Never heard of him before, and I hope I never hear of him again.

If one has to wear their sexual preference on their sleeve then they aren’t conservative. The party is open to anyone, we have sinners of all stripes and all of us have imperfections. The difference with the gay activists is that being accepted for their character isn’t enough. They have to be all about promoting their sexual identity. If that was all that would be fine but they aren’t interested in stopping there. They want to get people fired for disagreeing with their lifestyle, they want to cleanse and silence those in academia, the mental health profession and society of those who oppose the tenets of gay activism. They also promote lies equating homosexual behavior with race.

We don’t need the queers. I don’t know why this has become such an issue.

Why not just a picture of another man's anus?

If I remember correctly, Karger was a ranking member of the campaign team of Rep. Ed Zschau (R-Calif.)—rhymes with Mao—the ultra-liberal challenger to Sen. Alan Cranston (D-Calif.). Zschau was so liberal that a group called Conservatives for Cranston formed to support the incumbent, even though he made George McGovern look like Jesse Helms. The reasoning was that Cranston, who was getting up in years, would serve only one more term, while the youngster Zschau would be in forever.

Me neither. The Guardian is anti-American so I wont even bother finding out which gay club they found him in.

Better than Romney, but I’m not voting for him. He whole campaign slogan is “vote for me, I’m a homo.”

“Homosexual” and “Personal Responsibility” are two incongruent lines.

If you are personally responsible you do not live a russian-roulette sexual lifestyle.

And I will toss that at every heterosexual out there as well. Not just selectively appplying it to the unhappies out there.

I would also add if you are personally responsible you do not put you sex organ up someone’s poop shute. Or have them do that to you.

Hardly personally responsible. Not medically responsible. About as unhygenic as one can get without actually making out with someone’s rear end. Which is even more irresponsible.

Do you really trust someone to make good decisions when they think doing stuff like that is a good decision?

Gay people place sexual identity over character, and thus are discriminatory by their very nature. Not only is the lifestyle sickening, they have to promote lies - that it’s genetic, without choice.

They do this because they can’t have anybody wander off the reservation - with their tiny minority, they need every soldier they can to wage a battle from Hell. They indoctrinate and hold their people in captivity. Blackmail and guilt is the norm.

Gay men especially have to divert people’s attention from their actions to feelings. If people really thought about what is involved - the sight, the smell - they would revolt in horror. But they’re distracted by “feel-good” stories and p.c. communist garbage.
