Rove's Palin criticism provokes backlash from supporters who label him Biden of the Right
The Daily Caller ^ | October 29, 2010 | Jon Ward

Sarah Palin and her allies have not taken kindly to comments by Karl Rove this week that the former Alaska governor is not ready to be president, firing back at the former Bush White House political adviser in a fight that illustrates the simmering tensions within the Republican Party.

Palin herself made a crack about Rove Thursday but refrained from making pointed comments. But nationally syndicated conservative radio talk show host Mark Levin went after Rove with passion.

“I have to say, nice guy aside, this guy needs to get off the stage. He is yesterday’s operative,” Levin said. “There is a movement going on in this country, a movement that is trying to do serious things and substantive things, and this guy’s just running around, gassing off at the mouth, attacking some of the most conservative candidates in the field.”

“You know, Karl Rove is sort of becoming our Joe Biden, how many times he puts his foot in his mouth,” said Levin, an attorney who was chief of staff to the attorney general in the Reagan administration. “I think he’s got a Joe Biden problem.”

“There is a conservative uprising taking place, a conservative rebellion against Washington, against big government. And I don’t happen to think Rove and those guys are exactly the best face to put on it, because they had nothing to do with it. And in part – you want to know the truth? – in part it’s a reaction to them,” Levin said (see below for a transcript of Levin’s remarks).

The comments by Rove came during an interview with the London Telegraph that was published online late Wednesday, in response to questions about whether Palin would be a good Republican candidate for president...

I used to like Karl Rove as a political operative, but the GOP has splintered into the over-used “Ruling Class” vs. the “Country Class”.

Rove represents what he feels as “electable” and realize they are 50-60 years old and can stay in power, play the game, get smooched by lobbyists then retire and play 18 every other day at the club.

The new GOP are people like Ryan, Bachmann, DeMint, King, Issa, Palin and Governor Brewer.

I am not moving an inch on Conservative values, you can take the Global Warmers, Mexican apologists/open borders, welfare state, Muslim coddling, anti-business, ObamaCare supporting idiots and tell them to retire.

We are fighting for our future, not just a single malt and a chuckle over the cocktail waitress’ chest.

We need to be strong and fight the Liberals, they are the enemy.

Rove needs to STFU. His manuevering gave us the worst of Bush.

For all the teeth gnashing about Rove, he's funded Angle this cycle in the millions via American Crossroads, more in the Nevada race than SarahPAC has spent across the country in races. I don't agree with him on everything, but he is a pragmatist about elections and is paid to give his opinion.

The true believers will be in for a huge shock if Palin declares. She'll get criticized and questioned a lot harder during the primary.

Does the guy hate attractive women?

No, I don't think that's it. I think that Rove believes that he should be the one calling the shots in the Republican party, not Sarah Palin. But, what he doesn't realize that it is the people who are calling the shots.

**** karl rove... and one day I hope to tell him that directly to his face

Why would you tell karl rove "**** karl rove"? That would be confusing.

Just kidding. I agree with your sentiment. He and his protege Bush are responsible for destroying the legacy of Reagan. Democrats couldn't do it, it took Republicans to defeat conservatism.

Mitt is part of the political class who feels they deserve to ascend to power... yes he is part of the problem.

“Rove is so “Cocktail Party” it’s pathetic.”

I like that term much better than “establishment” or “ruling class” or even “country club”, it nails it perfectly.

I am going to borrow that descriptive from you if I may, and will probably use it quite frequently. If you are the originator of that term, kudos to you, it really is the perfect moniker for what TEA partiers are up against.

I think Sarah used it first, but I am glad I am not the only one that thinks it is perfect.

If anything epitomizes exactly what the Tea Party developed as a natural reaction against it is the Georgetown Cocktail Party "set" and its devotees from both major political parties.

So smug... so serene... so wonderfully condescendingly sure that THEY are the elite natural rulers of the nation and that we should all be so humbly grateful that they are willing to devote their lives to "public service".

Like most of us, I am actually much more disgusted with the Republican members of that set than I am with the Democrats. The Democrats are the party of government. Sucking the government teat and bringing home the bacon is what they have always lived for.

Republicans are supposed to know better. The failure of the Republican party leadership to "walk the walk" back when they OWNED congress is precisely what lead to the disgust evident in the "thumping" they were administered in 2006.

I am in no mood to give them another chance!

You're the one due for a huge shock. Palin has been questioned and criticised - and stalked - for two years. Your boy Romney has been invisible.

She has withstood the attacks of the DNC and Team Romney --
and is well liked by the American people.

“Go Mitt. Go Mitt. Go Mitt.”

“Rove is pushing Romney so aggressively some folks are beginning to wonder what's going on,” grumbled one veteran Republican strategist.”

“Rove has made no secret of his support for Romney as McCain’s VP. ”

There is a reason that Rove has always been a background operative.

When stepping to the forefront, he does so with his foot firmly in his mouth.

Karl Rove is so “over”. He needs to sit down and STFU. People are sick of him. I used to think he was just the greatest now I can’t stand to listen to him.

"He is yesterday’s operative,”

Levin nails it again. Times change and the political landscape changes. Rove is still stuck in the year 2000.

You're kidding right? Her political record hasn't even been questioned here, or by the GOP. It will though, get ready. She's not as Conservative as her followers have been convinced.

I'm looking forward to a healthy debate in the primary, hopefully including Demint, Pence, Daniels, Christie et al.

Romneycare will take care of Romney in the primary. Move along troll.
