Midterm blowout: 50 or more Dem seats set to fall in the election
The Hill ^ | 10/27/2010 | Shane D’Aprile

Republicans are headed for a blowout election win that seems certain to seize more than enough seats to knock out the Democrats and take control of the House.

The Hill 2010 Midterm Election poll, surveying nearly 17,000 likely voters in 42 toss-up districts over four weeks, points to a massive Republican wave that, barring an extraordinary turnaround, will deliver crushing nationwide defeats for President Obama’s party.

The data suggest a GOP pickup that could easily top 50 seats (the party needs 39 for control of the House).

Of the 42 districts polled for The Hill, all but two of which are currently Democratic, 31 had Republicans in the lead. Democrats were up in just seven, and four were tied. In addition, there are some 15 Democratic districts that are so far into the GOP win column that they weren’t polled. That would suggest at least 46 GOP pickups, plus whatever the party gets out of another 40 or 50 seats that some experts believe are in play.

Predict some surprise pickups in the NE and West as well.

Everyone, as you all know, we have not won anything yet. GOTV! These polls being touted by liberal leaning sites make me nervous. They get people complacent, and Dems will view it as victory if the landslide does not materialize.

Once more, GOTV!

I like your numbers better than The Hill. The Hill is “the worst leftwing rag in Washington” (a one top House staffer recently described it to me). They will intentionally try to dampen the enthusiasm of conservatives.

So Dems retain the Senate by a vote? That’s what Intrade thinks as well.

Crawl through broken glass to get to your polling station. Let no polls or no articles by leftist saying how great it is for us detract you from your assigned mission...

Longtime Reps. Allen Boyd (D-Fla.), Chet Edwards (D-Texas) and John Spratt (D-S.C.) are all down by double digits, and each is polling at 40 percent or below. The three have held their congressional seats for 14, 20 and 28 years, respectively.

I think so, and that means the mushy moderates like Snowe, Collins, Lieberman, and Nelson will be the swing votes. Once that becomes clear watch McCain swoop in to get in front of that parade and declare himself the power broker.

Heh... Sell...Sell! I had lots of offers for my Pioneer turntable with top of the line cartridge (Purchased in Japan long ago). You could probably get a several times the price you paid for it today. I regret throwing out all of my LP’s including the White Album - really dumb I was...

Yes, getting songs these days means having an Internet link...heh.

I still have a Pioneer 1500 TD amp/tuner.
I can’t use it with more modern equipment because it blows fuses...
