Will Fred Thompson's Strong Fake Federalism Pass Muster With the Base?

There. Fixed it.

There is nothing "federalist" about abrogating the God-given rights to life and liberty.

I’ll never cast a vote for Fred Thompson for anything. Or Rudy Giuliani. Or Mitt Romney. Or John McCain. Or Mike Huckabee. Or Ron Paul.

These men don’t even believe in the God-given, unalienable rights to life and liberty.

As the Declaration of Independence asserts, the protection of those rights is the reason we even have government.

To hell with the lot of them. And the Republican Party, if the GOP is going to tear the heart out of the Reagan platform.

Letting a Democrat -- any Democrat -- return to the Oval Office sure ain't protecting those rights.

Abortion is murder. Crimes such as murder have always been decided by the state legislatures.

Fake is the exact opposite of what it is. There are few political points to be gained by taking the sound Constitutional positions that Fred Thompson has taken in his campain. A man who so respects the federalism that is engrained in our Constitution that he is willing to forgo the politically expedient position that will sway the small-minded in the party is the man I trust to nominate Supreme Court justices that will also respect the Constitution.

I agree. I have been seriously concerned about Fred but listening to FRiends I have at least considered him but after the last couple days I just don’t believe I could vote for him for sure in the primary and in the general...maybe holding my nose but I am not even sure of that. If Duncan Hunter went third party, that would seriously be a tough decisison. Hopefully all this is moot and Duncan pulls this thing out. I truly believe that he can. Funny how FREEPERS listen to polls only went it is convenient.
