When President Bush first came out with the phrase "The soft bigotry of low expectation" it went right to my heart. It put into one phrase what I have long believed.
By constantly telling people that they are not good enough to get ahead, unless some liberal made it possible, they are crippling entire generations. I can't tell you how made it makes me.
That quote is enough to make me cry. This President "gets it". He knows that people don't make more of themselves because they are forced to. It has to come from within to feel that sense of pride and self worth that most successful people have.
There was a time and a place for this. It has long since passed.
