Word For The Day, Monday
5/5/03

Posted on 05/05/2003 12:03:04 AM PDT by Bella_Bru

In order that we might all raise the level of discourse and expand our language abilities, here is the daily post of “word for the day”. Rules: Everyone must leave a post using the “word of the day”; in a sentence. The sentence must, in some way, relate to the news of the day. The Review threads are linked for your edification. ;-) Practice makes perfect.....post on....

Ok, it has been brought to my attention that some things were said somewhere else and were attributed to me and my feelings for WFTD. Originally, I was not going to be harsh, in fact I was going to apologize. Upon futher consideration though, I have decided I have nothing to apologize for. Let's take this step by step, shall we?

1. First off, I do not dislike WFTD nor do I dislike any of you. I rather do like you all quite a bit.
2. Second, I think my own thoughts, I have my own feelings. The person who I am with is NOT MY FREAKING SPOKESPERSON. Therefore, DO NOT ASSUME ANYONE ELSE'S WORDS ARE MINE. Believe it or not, even though I am female I do not rely on a male to provide my thoughts and feelings for me. People that do that are weak.
3. If you have any more ASSUMPTIONS or questions, you can FReepmail me, instead of having a FReepmail whisper-a-thon with each other, okie dokie?

Onto our WFTD.

neoterism\Ne*ot"er*ism\, noun:

I think we need to make an official neoteric word for House of Cards.

See Post 5.

Demorcrats need a neoterism
'Cause the whole party is rift with schism
They only agree
On setting Bush free
But his reelection appears like fatalism.

After seeing the 'slap the donkey' story I wish I had found it and used it here, but I will have to go with my own homework. It will make a nice tag line for a while, though.

Good news!

It took a LOT of research, butt I'm not really complaning.

I finally found a good movie of that complex swaying, fluttering, wiggling, jiggling, shifting tail motion that males are so fond of.

(Well, xsex might like it too... Since she's obviously the model prototype.)

Two neoterisms from Rodney King come to mind today, 'Can't we all just get along?' and 'No Officer, I did not see that house before I hit it.'

Doesn't the above-posted photo look as if Bubba is wearing a Bro or Manzierre?

Hi kids.

It is hardly a neoteric act for me to draw your attention to the latest columns by Mark Steyn, but I'm gonna do it anyway. So there.

And, Bella, I confess that I haven't got the faintest idea what you're talking about in the beginning of your post (which just shows how out of the loop I am around here,) but thanks for the explanation, anyway. I'm a very sensitive soul, you know. ;-)

That reminds me. I am in search of the perfect killing machine for bumblebees. They shake off the wasp spray on the rare occasions that I can get them. The evil insects are intimidating the big dogs and trying to take over the play fort and swings. Any advice?

Put fruit trees and flowers on one side of the yard where the play area is not located. Only put plants that don't flower on the play area side.

And always keep Benedryl around. Sometimes bee stings can cause horrid allergic reactions. Gotta get that antihistimine into your body promptly.

I believe I saw a new bee product out recently. It's the kind of bag used for getting flies. The bees fly in and promptly die.

Funny true-life story about bees.

The 'bot took out the trash last week. That's supposedly "his job." Right. He came back in and said to me, "B."

I said, "Be what?"

He said, "B."

I said, "Use 'be' in a sentence so I can understand what you're saying."

He said, "A bee stung me."

I said, "A bee stung you? Where? Let me get something on it."

He said, "I didn't get stung by a bee. You told me to use 'bee' in a sentence."

Then I asked, "What are you talking about?"

He finally said, "When I took the trash out, a bee chased me."

What do you do? What do you do?
