Beyond this point there be spoilers!

Don't say we didn't warn you! Spoilers are what this thread is all about. So bring your rumors (substantiated or not!), spoilers, spy reports, and bones of contention about them here as the snippets of RoTK news, photos and interviews come rolling in.
I wouldn't even recommend pinging people to this thread unless you know they want to see them. There are a lot of purists out there that hate to have anything given away before the movie comes out. I, however, am not one of those.
I will start a "RoTK spoilers ping list" separate from the other Tolkien ping lists so let me know if you want to be on the spoiler alert list!" If we use this thread for that kind of stuff, we won't shock people who don't want to see it. (though I bet they look anyway!)
Report 'em if you got 'em!
One tip
.. Don't embed images from TORN (TheOneRing.Net) on this thread. If possible, load the image to another server, or just post a link to the TORN page. TORN's servers are powered by fleas I think, and are horrendously slow, particularly when they have something that is particularly good!
Full 10 Minute ROTK Report?!
8/10/03, 7:02 pm EST - Xoanon
Murky Majare is a new name to me, I"ve never had a report from him/her before. However he/she does have a few interesting details on the FULL ROTK preview we shall see on the TTT DVD (and yes the trailer we posted is part of it). Take a look! !!!SPOILERS!!! [More]
In other news..... the pictures on this thread that I hosted at York, including our thread header pic, are about to die. I have switched photo hosts, and York is gonna cut me off soon.... I have saved copies of all the pics on the thread to post again if we need them again in a future discussion, but on the thread, they will soon become little 's....
So if there are any that you want to save.... now would be the time! Otherwise ask me later, and I will hunt them up.
Little more info here FROM TORN!

TTT DVD Review!
8/12/03, 9:38 pm EST - Xoanon
Elanor writes: Last year before Fellowship was released, a friend tipped me off to a store in my neighborhood that sells DVD's earlier than the official release date. So I figured it wouldn't hurt to check this year either. So today I am the proud owner of the theatrical widescreen DVD of The Two Towers! !!!SPOILERS!!! [More]
Will probably have some words for Jackson when it is all said and done...not that it will matter to him or to anyone. They will have my money and that is all that is important to them.
Thanks Alkhin! - This is posted in TORN's Message board (ROTK Movie Spoilers - don't read if you don't wanna know ), not yet on their news page, so we shall see if they keep it there, delete it or make it a story..... Pasting it here....

ROTK Movie Spoilers - don't read if you don't wanna know

Hi all - What follows are spoilers both for the film and the story, so dont read on if you dont want to know. I have a friend who works in publishing whos seen an advance text for TROTK photo guide (sadly, all the photos themselves are embargoed). But it contains a rudimentary plot summary, which gives away some tantalising tidbits. Okay, a few spoilers follow (minor, admittedly!). 1. Instead of a special arrow summoning Rohan, this is achieved when Pippin is sent by Gandalf to light the towers beacon; this is seen from afar by Aragorn. 2. Arwens role becomes slightly odd; she falls ill (reasons are not given) but this is presumably the dying of a broken heart that elves are prone to. Apparently only Saurons fall can reverse this fatal affliction, as she waits in Rivendell to see what Aragorns fate will be. (Well, I guess it keeps her in the picture!) 3. Elrond does indeed order Narsil reforged, and takes the sword to Aragorn personally, telling him how it can help him summon the Dead Army. 4. The Dead Army (as some have predicted correctly) does not seem to be involved in defeating the Corsairs instead Aragorn takes them directly to Minas Tirith where they overrun the invaders and save the city. A logical simplification. 5. Eowyn/Dernhelm seems to run exactly as in the book, with the only difference being that Merry knows who s/he is all along, but keeps quiet! 6. It is Pippin not Gandalf who pushes Faramir off the pyre; Gandalf attempts to save Denethor but is too late.

Hey, I like that touch. JRRT would have, too.
Re: Arwen falling ill.
This makes sense in context--she's in a powerful conflict.
Only ~two weeks til the DVD comes out!
Sounds great! I like these changes, and I really like "All in all, the storyline seems to cleave extremely closely to the book, with perhaps the least chopping around of all the three films."

Norwegian RoTK Trailer News
8/16/03, 10:06 am EST - Demosthenes
Ringer Fan Sharon tells us that the Norwegian VG article we linked to yesterday also included the premiere date for the theatre trailer for RoTK. The section translates: The world premiere of the "Return of the King" trailer is the 26th of September. In Norway it will be shown before the Norwegian romantic comedy "The woman in my life" with Thomas Giertsen in the main role.
Could This Be The Dead?
8/16/03, 10:05 am EST - Demosthenes
Ringer Spy Bellerophon writes that the Tolkien Online boards have stumbled across this screencap from the FoTR EE DVD. What is it? It doesn't seem to be from the first two films. We wonder if this could be a maquette of the Dead (just in the way we saw the early models of Shelob on the DVD). Or perhaps it's totally unrelated to LoTR. Take a look! [More] Possible Spoilers!
Making A Noise For LoTR
8/16/03, 4:35 am EST - Demosthenes
Apparently more than 20,000 people were at the Westpac Trust Stadium in Wellington, this afternoon to do some screaming and shouting for LoTR. Ringer Spy NZBoy reports that an LoTR sound crew was at the Rugby match, and came out after the game, and got the crowd to chant several different human and orcish war chants. Check out our report for some pictures and a very cool soundbite of one the chants! [More] Minor Spoilers!
