I had to read American literature in both high school and college. I read Mark Twain, Nathaniel Hawthorne, Louisa May Alcott, Jack London, Maya Angelou, Herman Melville, John Knowles, J.D. Salinger, and many other famous American writers. Some I liked; some I didn’t like. What I invariably hated was how English teachers approached them, picking them apart to the point of inanity (and, in my day, always with an eye to sexual symbolism). However, none of my teachers used those books to advance Marxism. At Harvard, though, things have changed, with the American novel being used as a platform for destroying America and her values.
Those of us who have been paying attention (as I have since my days at Berkeley in the early 1980s) know that academia has been home to leftism for a very long time. Mostly, though, it was subtle, and ordinary Americans viewed it as fringe, irrelevant stuff that students would abandon when they hit the real world.
We normal kept saying that as we read about snowflakes and their trigger warnings. We said it as the snowflakery morphed into the racial madness of DEI and CRT. We said it when gender madness overtook racial madness. And some people have been trying to say it (“It’s a few bad actors.” “It’s outside actors.”) regarding the antisemitism that’s now the norm on American college campuses.
And mind you, this is pure antisemitism. On the UC Davis campus, which used to be among the more sensible campuses in the University of California system, an elderly Jewish (not an Israeli, but a Jewish) professor was blocked from the campus:
Masked activists block Jewish Professor from entering the UC Davis campus where he works.

It has always been about destroying Western Civilization.
Went through graduate school at a famous university there.
I asked her once, "did you have to take classes on Communism when you were in school?"
She said she did.
So I asked her "even in graduate school?"
She said yeah.
Then I asked her "so those Communism classes in grad school, what were they? Really advanced, detailed, complex Communist doctrine? What was that like?"
She said "no, it was just the same things we'd been taught since second or third grade."
The students are not indoctrinated or brainwashed.
They are SELECTED to join the ruling class, for high intelligence but also for conformity. They are better than their competition at “giving them what they want”. Much better.
The faculty wants committed leftism, and the students are outstanding at giving their superiors what they want.
That’s really all there is to it. Change the incentives and the students will change right along.
But you can’t change the incentives, you can’t take over, without a will to power as strong as that on the left. The problem is not that governments are too strong, it is that they are too weak.
This is news? This has been going on for at least the least 80 years?
General Augusto Pinochet had the correct idea for dealing with Marxists.
And now they’re completely worthless and unemployable with a fake education
Cultural Marxists.
Frankfurt School. They fled Hitler and came here to take over universities. Marching through the institutions, Deconstruction of ‘gender’ ... class ... etc.
You ask them about Soviet Union, China, Cuba and get, “That’s not real Communism.” Every expression of actual Marxism that results in mass genocide and poverty / destruction for the people = not real Marxism.
So what is real Marxism? Will we ever see it?
And it’s a religion. For atheists.
For good of for ill, the Harvard “encampment” is no more. But Harvard capitulated to their bogus demands!

exactly. it's been the goal of the left since the 60s.
The USA should take an Israeli attitude toward terrorist training camps.
Good point about selection for conformity.
