Article 8 of Palestinian Public Health Law No. 20, which was passed in 2004, states that in the West Bank and Gaza, abortion is prohibited by any means unless necessary to save the pregnant woman’s life, as proven by the testimony of two specialist physicians.

The modern State of Israel is an officially secular (non-religious) state founded by Jewish Socialists largely from Russia which was established as a homeland for ethnic Jews in 1948. It is not a theocracy as biblical Israel was. It has no Davidic kingship, no temple or active priesthood, and most of it's Jewish inhabitants are non-religious or atheists, just like many American Jews. The Jewish people themselves, wherever they are in the world, remain beloved by God and still have a place in God's plan, but this has nothing to do with the modern State of Israel. They are a valuable, fairly stable geo-political ally to the US in a region of the world where we have precious few friends, but that's it.
