Banning American gun exports
American Thinker ^ | 28 Apr, 2024 | Mike McDaniel

The Biden Administration has become quickly and justly infamous for damaging American industry in every way possible. If there’s a way to make it difficult or impossible for Americans to make lawful products or provide lawful services, if there’s a way for them to force American manufacturing out of America and into the waiting arms of our enemies, they’ve discovered and implemented it. This is nowhere as true as in the energy and firearm sectors.

Graphic: Lake City Army Ammunition Plant Pallet.

This morning [04-25-24], a briefing will be held by the Department of Commerce’s Bureau of Industry and Security (BIS) for ‘the Hill’ regarding their interim rule regarding the ‘pause’ on the issuance of new government licenses for firearms, related components and ammunition for ‘nongovernmental end users.’

The Outdoor Wire has learned the Commerce Department plans to make that “pause” on the issuance of new export licenses for firearms, related components and ammunition permanent.

America makes among the finest firearms, related components and ammunition in the world, and the American firearm industry has long enjoyed excellent profits on such sales. Our government, however, has determined that sort of thing absolutely must stop! “That sort of thing” would amount to around $240 million in annual profits—s conservative estimate--American manufacturers would lose. We can be certain other nations, many of them our enemies, will be glad to gain those profits.

The firearms and energy industries are under active attack.

Consider the premises of those who are doing this:

1. Guns are bad.

2. People who make guns are bad.

3. Hurting bad people is good.

Conservatives think Progressives are people with bad ideas. Progressives think Conservatives are bad people with ideas.

This is why Leftists/Communists have no compunction about killing millions of people.

It is a small price to pay for a perfect future.

But exporting missiles and jets and artillery will continue without interruption. Guess it all depends on the size of the gun and the company making them. I can make a better argument for banning Raytheon and Lockheed products than rifles and pistols.

Guns were not bad till 1934. Then again in 1962. It has been a continual push to ban guns by any means since.

The lies we have been told over the years...

1962 We ONLY want to register handguns. Rifles will not be affected!
1964, We ONLY want to register ALL firearms, not ban them.

1968 We ONLY want to register all guns, and ban the import of foreign Saturday Night Specials, and 5-shot bolt action army surplus rifles! (they got the ban).

1970, We ONLY want to ban small American handguns. Rifles will not be affected!

1976 We ONLY want to ban ALL handguns! Rifles will not be affected!

1981, Actress Lee Grant on Good Morning America (ABC) screams...”THE NRA IS A RIFLE ORGANIZATION! THEY SHOULD GIVE UP THEIR HANDGUNS AND THEY CAN KEEP THEIR RIFLES!”

1984, they came for the rifles.

1988,Josh Sugarmann, of the National Council to Ban Handguns tells how to ban rifles.

“Assault weapons’ menacing looks, coupled with the public’s confusion over
fully-automatic machine guns versus semi-automatic assault weapons
—anything that looks like a machine gun is assumed to be a machine
gun— can only increase the chance of public support for restrictions on
these weapons.”
– Josh Sugarmann

From 1976.

Nelson T. ‘Pete’ Shields
Founder of Handgun Control, Inc.(Now the Brady Center)

“I’m convinced that we have to have federal legislation to build on. We’re going to have to take one step at a time, and the first step is necessarily — given the political realities — going to be very modest.

Of course, it’s true that politicians will then go home and say, ‘This is a great law. The problem is solved.’ And it’s also true that such statements will tend to defuse the gun-control issue for a time.

So then we’ll have to strengthen that law, and then again to strengthen that law, and maybe again and again. Right now, though, we’d be satisfied not with half a loaf but with a slice. Our ultimate goal — total control of handguns in the United States — is going to take time.

My estimate is from seven to ten years. The problem is to slow down the increasing number of handguns sold in this country. The second problem is to get them all registered. And the final problem is to make the possession of all handguns and all handgun ammunition — except for the military, policemen, licensed security guards, licensed sporting clubs, and licensed gun collectors — TOTALLY ILLEGAL.”

-Pete Shields, Chairman and founder, Handgun Control Inc., “A Reporter At Large: Handguns,” The New Yorker, July 26, 1976, 57-58

“Yes, I’m for an outright ban [on handguns].”(Now rifles added)

-Pete Shields, Chairman emeritus, Handgun Control, Inc., 60 Minutes interview

HCI, around 1984, suddenly made a grab for the semi-auto rifles and shotguns, and missed But they showed their hand. As a result all gun owners know we are always up against a stacked deck.

Great post. Always nice to see it.

I remember all of that.

I also remember doing the research and discovering the "science" was shoddy propaganda.

My husband likes shows like Bones, which is basically just a leftist propaganda piece.

On these shows, they always act as if being shot with a gun is the worst thing that could possible happen. Strangled to death? Shrug. Stabbed to death? Shrug. Drowned? Shrug. Shot? OMG that’s horrible, how could something like this happen?

As for killing people to create that perfect future, I wonder if leftists will ever come to a point where they realize that they can’t keep killing their way to a perfect utopia. They’ve already killed over 100 million—quickly approaching 200 million when one counts the tens of millions of preborn babies killed—and society is just as imperfect as ever.

True to fact. CHG is buying as many manufacturers that they can. CZ recently purchased Colt which came with Dan Wesson. The real problem with Czech companies buying up our industries is glairing us right in the face. One of the major points is the ability to throttle the industry in hopes of increased profits. It is unlikely the gun grabbers could succeed in getting Lake City shutdown as it is currently the only small arms manufacturing left in the USA that supports the military. Yes it is owned by Uncle Sugar but ran by Olin Corp. Who is to say that CHG wouldn’t attempt to purchase Olin Corp which I am sure they have been approached. Now who would control our ability to produce our ammunition?

BeijingBiden times this with the Oct7 raid. Arms’ makers wanted to respond to frantic requests for guns from Israel. But, the PedoPres could not allow citizens of the only democracy in the MEast to be able to protect themselves.

Not that it invalidates your point but CZ (maker of firearms) is not CZG despite their names. Just clarifying.

Point was that Czech companies are buying our firearms industries. At least a couple are still family owned and not influenced by corporate boards.
