The Russians have proven that they can advance across a broad front at will.
The Russians are trying to maximize Ukrainian soldier deaths while limiting the destruction of what remains of Ukraine. The Russians have learned that getting the rubble of what was a city is pointless.

I don’t believe they’re trying to get there. Looks like the goal is just grinding Ukraine into the dust. You can wish all you want, but Ukraine is screwed in an attritional battle.
