Despite the countless number of rock songs about lust, this one seems to stand out the most among critics and fans alike. Known for its timeless riff (which Keith Richards literally wrote in his sleep), this song placed #2 on the Rolling Stone’s 500 Greatest Songs of All Time.
Released in 1965, “Satisfaction” is the song that cemented the already popular Rolling Stones as superstars.

When I’m watchin’ my TV
And a man comes on and tells me
How white my shirts can be
But, he can’t be a man ‘cause he doesn’t smoke

I Can’t get No!
Satisfaction!
👍
Great song. Timeless.🤟
I’ve seen the Stones eight times. (This summer will mark the ninth, assuming I or they don’t keel over in the interim.) “Satisfaction” is one of only four songs they’ve played every time. Any guesses on the other three?
I like that one and Gimme Shelter. When I play those songs for kids in their 20’s they love it.
How nice to know that the singer is completely satisfied.

Hey, hey, hey! That’s what I’ll say!”
Mick Jagger’s statement –
‘Satisfaction’ was ‘my view of the world, my frustration with everything… (disgust with) America, its advertising syndrome, the constant barrage
Richards about the most famous riff in rock –
That riff needed to sustain itself, and Gibson had just brought out these little boxes.(the fuzz).
And – about the riff coming to him in his sleep – On the tape, you can hear me drop the pick, and the rest is snoring.
Never thought about it as being about “lust.”
Seemed like a rather self-aware kid frustrated with the world around him.
thought the sleep thing was about “Gimme Shelter.”
Except it’s not about lust.
Well, it could be...but Keith said what he said.
Midnight Rambler - Live version...
Devo has the best song cover since Hendrix did Dylan's "All Along the Watchtower"
Wasn't love at first sight - but they DID grow on me.
