Old car guys like going through the gears. And the smell of oil.

Seriously, I agree. Cars of let’s say the 80’s and before had a slight oil burn smell from the exhaust when the engine was gunned. Also oil seepage from the gaskets on the engine had an odor when the engine got real hot. I actually liked both odors and equated the odors with the hot rods I had in the day.
