Well, as my Croatian mother would say, the Irish had whisky.

Even the ancients enjoyed their beer gardens.

If I was stranded on an island with only one beer, I’d choose Guinness.

It used to be against the law to print or advertise the alcohol content of beer (ABV or alcohol by volume). The regulators feared that beer companies would get into a marketing war over who makes weak beer or which has more alcohol. But now we have all these varieties, and substitute alcoholic seltzers. So now it’s allowed.

My neighbor is a party type guy. Always has people hanging out all times of day. He’s a good neighbor, not raucous parties just very social. So I came to bringing him a 30 pack once or twice a week to cover my share - plus he’s generous with his food too. He is more a wine drinker but his guests chug beers. They were bringing Coors light. I brought regular Coors and they asked why… my answer was that it’s the same price but has about 20% more alcohol.

I’m sitting about 6 feet a way from a kegerator with a new batch of mango flavored IPA my hubby brewed in the keg. He’s getting seriously good at brewing! CO2 is hooked up and should be carbonated in the next few days.

The only lite beer I will ever drink is Yeugling.

Any other lite beer I have tried may as well be water.

I won't knock Guinness, because it's decent, but stranded on an island, I think I'd have to pick one of the local craft stouts, or if not local, at least a craft.

Malt, hops, yeast & water. Home brewer? I do sometimes. Haven’t in a while, but always enjoy the process and especially the result!

“”As an Irish friend once told me, that is why they were destined to never become leaders. 🀣””

I repeated that years ago to an Irish neighbor, he didn’t find it funny. To my knowledge, he didn’t even drink. Coffee was our strongest beverage together.
