HILO, Hawaii (Island News) -- A newborn baby girl is said to be OK after being dragged by her mother while still attached to her umbilical cord moments after she was born.
The incident happened just after 5 p.m. Tuesday in Hilo.
The 41-year old homeless woman was reportedly seen dragging the baby girl on the sidewalk near Mamo Street and Keawe Street. According to EMS, at the time, the baby was breathing, but not moving.
The infant was taken to Hilo Medical Center where doctors determined she was in good condition.
The mother left the area once she was separated from the baby. But she was arrested by Hawaii Police officers for abandonment of a child and sent to the Hilo Medical Center Emergency Room for treatment.
Police say the woman is still in the hospital but has been released from police custody pending investigation.
The baby was later transferred to Child Welfare Services.
Police ask anyone who may have witnessed this incident to call them.

Even animals take better care of their newborms. Was the woman drugged, mentally sick or so depraved that a human life means less tham nothing to her.
I’m glad the baby is safe and healthy. The woman obviously needs some kind of help. I hope she gets it.

That is bizarre. Did that woman NOT KNOW she had given birth?
There has been another story about a homeless woman on drugs who gave birth and did not know it. That woman was laying on the streets of San Fran so zonked out of her mind and others had to help the baby once it came out.
Article said she was homeless, so all three are possible.

That’s awful.
As hard as these types of stories are to read, we have to post such stories and bring attention to them so people can understand the reality of how far our nation and it’s culture has fallen.
I bet if you mentioned this on a left-wing site, most commenters would say it was a “conspiracy theory” story and never happened. Too many people ignore and turn their head to avoid reading such stories. Normalcy bias is a problem in America.

I doubt the baby is healthy. Poor little thing likely exposed to so many drugs and STDs, genetically at high risk for mental illness.
