“If UFOs are real, it would be the most important issue in the history of mankind and wouldn’t be a distraction at all.”

Correct.

This is one of those lessons best learned the hard way.

That's a possibility.

But on the issue of UFOs, the DOD is comprised of many different factions, some of whom want disclosure, some who deny the issue exists, and some who are determined to hide the issue behind NDAs and stigmas (and worse).

Even within the various service branches, opinions differ re: UFOs.

The Air Force refuses to even discuss the matter and has refused access to their files to members of Congressional committees that have legal oversight powers. The Navy on the other hand has been increasingly forthcoming on the issue, admitting that there's something there that we can't identify and don't understand.

From an article I linked to :
“A lot of those people think that there are actually aliens behind UFOs, and so they think it’s a very important thing for people to know about. So they’ve been working, sometimes overtly and sometimes behind the scenes, to try to get this story into the media. So they leak videos to the New York Times, for example. And then the New York Times writes a story about it. This creates eventually what becomes a tsunami of media attention that creates more public attention and puts pressure on politicians. “

Even aside from the UFO issue the fact that the Navy and Air Force can have radically different policies on what is essentially the same topic is a clue that the formal organization chart of government is useless.

In theory any competent Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff and President could fix this in five minutes.

In practice they are powerless.

I don’t claim to understand the details of what is behind all of it.

I can just use logic to observe the outline of it.

It was easy enough for the powers-that-be to silence Snowden/Assange/Yeakey/Webb/Rich. Why in world do you think they wouldn’t do the same thing to a UFO whistle blowers?

The best thing about getting your clearance the first time is the ufo ride.

People are beginning to get annoyed over insider trading, time to trot out the shiny object.

Shiny object = Tin foil (as in hat)?

You are seeing half of the picture—the human lies and deception.

Once you can also see the other half everything starts to make sense—which is the aliens are real.

One place to start is Richard Dolan. He is a professional historian who has been working this issue for decades.

Two of his older books that imho are the textbooks for the history of this topic:

https://www.amazon.com/UFOs-National-Security-State-Chronology/dp/1571743170

https://www.amazon.com/UFOs-National-Security-State-1973-1991/dp/0967799511

If you prefer videos he has a lot of them, some short summaries and some long discussions:

https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCnaIeNm-jSa1l8yHrn7PlQg

He also created the term “Breakaway Civilization” a couple of decades ago.

Once you “get it” on that concept everything starts to make sense.

First you get the anal probe.

If you survive that you get the ride.

Do you know who Mick West is? He is a video game creator who has become famous as a UFO debunker. Every time there is a video or photo, his first answer is "Bug on the windshield."

Mick West is a nice guy, but he has personally been debunked.

See tagline. Mick West isn't looking for the truth. He's trying to prove his bias.

Is that what you are doing? Making up your mind before all the evidence is in?

Don't look at the crumbling world, look here at the aliens.

Sure, Jan.

Perhaps the “crumbling world” and the “aliens” are related.

Maybe if you understand one you get a better understanding of both.

I would recommend that you don't close your mind just because the world is going to hell in a handbasket.

That's the equivalent of saying, "The stock market just collapsed, so don't tell me that my kid is flunking algebra...I just don't want to hear about it."

But on issues like this there isn’t a debate.

Lets assume a scenario with BOTH 2)A and 2)B as you are proposing. (they are real and some parts of government want to release the info and some want to hide the info)

It would only take one entity who desired to hide it for it to be hidden. There is no prisoners dilemma or game theory to consider here.

If someone wants it hidden, they kill/imprison/silence the person attempting to leak it as they did to Assange/Snowden/Yeakey/Webb/Rich.

I’ll check him out.

I have no problem abandoning old ideas when they have been shown to be wrong. I used to be a big believer in UFOs. Logic has lead me away from that belief but I am always trying to learn more. If not to change my opinion, then to make my argument stronger.

If you had followed this issue closely over a long period, you would be aware that the military has taken very drastic steps to silence people. It is only lately that some people have begun to buck the system.

This is one of those issues that cannot be analyzed from a distance. I think if you dig into it, you will find it to be much more complicated than it appears from a distance.

I'm not suggesting what conclusion you might reach. What I am saying is that I think you will find it a very interesting subject of investigation.

Why...fight so hard to kill a UFO Disclosure Amendment?

Maybe it's just part of the show.

It is a tough field—plenty of fruits and nuts and government disinfo to muddy the waters.

Each of us has to work on our power of discernment—how do we tell fact from fiction?

It is hard work—and anyone who claims otherwise has not done the work.
