There are many ways to easily defeat steering a steering wheel lock. And a car thief would know every one of them.
But, hey. Passing out steering wheel locks makes everyone involved feel like they’re fighting crime. It will do little good. But that doesn’t matter.
The wafer locks on these things can be jiggled in seconds.
They can carjack the owner.
Put the criminals in jail... or graves.
True that they can be defeated. Only advantage is the noise and time of drilling or cutting the wheel lock which supposedly causes most thieves to move on to the next car. Who knows?
