Joe Biden was booed and heckled on the streets of Nantucket on Saturday even as people protesting the war in Gaza were kept far away from the president.
The president's motorcade even took a different route from where he is staying - David Rubenstein's $34 million home on Abrams Point - into town to avoid driving past protestors gathered on the side of the road with signs saying 'Free Palestine.'
A group of about 40 people calling for an end to the fighting in Palestine were kept down one end of Main Street in downtown Nantucket - about six blocks from where Biden was shopping with wife Jill Biden, son Hunter Biden and the first couple's grandchildren.
The protesters held a large banner reading 'Ceasefire 4Eva' and chanted: 'The pause is just a pause. A permanent ceasefire. Let Gaza live.'
Additionally, people in the crowds that lined the sidewalks shouted 'shame on you' and 'armchair murder' as the president walked by while others booed. But there were also plenty of cheers mixed in with the cat calls as Biden supporters tried to drown out his critics.
Biden has become a target of criticism over his steadfast support of Israel, whose military has killed tens of thousands of Palestinian civilians in their effort to root out Hamas fighters responsible for the October 7 attack.
The president has spent much of this Thanksgiving holiday dealing with war between Israel and Hamas.
He addressed the first round of hostages released on Friday and spoke about it again on Saturday, saying 'hopefully we'll see something soon' after zero Americans were released by Hamas.
But he also has spent a lot of time shopping with his family. He visited several shops in downtown Nantucket on Saturday, including the Murray Toggery, Mitchell's Book Corner...

I once knew a girl from Nantucket.

He is not going to get the hard left vote.
Noteworthy where he went for lunch:
‘Brotherhood of Thieves’
(I’ve eaten there dozens of times, good burger... however great restaurant name for the regime that robs us everyday)
Is there a Depends R Us store in Nantucket?
When you’ve lost Nantucket...
Brotherhood’s is just plain good.
> He [Biden] is not going to get the hard left vote. <
Which is another reason why the DNC will force him to drop out at the convention. “Thanks for your service, Joe. Now step aside. And take your terrible poll numbers with you.”
You will notice this is a British newspaper and it is probably the place you will see it.
Nantucket Nazi sympathizers.
This was less of a problem for President Trump, because as soon as there was a hint he would show up, yuge crowds of supporters would spontaneously show up, too. This made it difficult for the protesters and agitators to disrupt.

Her **** was so long she could **** it
When you’ve lost Nantucket, you’ve lost the country.
No need .They brought enough along for the weekend.

It’s like the shyster does it deliberately......to rub it in our faces.
The problem, as I see it, is that if they do that they lose the older democrats. Either way they lose 20% to 30% of their base.
Secondly, I don’t think Biden will step aside.
Ex “islandah” here -but not a native! (I was only 1 month old at first visit, so -a poser. See I gots to put that out there out of respect to my childhood friends who still may be there. I don’t mind. I always used to kid them “yeah, so I’m not inbred, so what?”
I visited the Brotherhood in Sept. It’s changed vastly since I worked there in 1973 helping the first year, working for the founder Arty Krause. I was just a wee lad but still got a W2 for it which is unheard of nowadays for a pre-teen worker. It’s so exceptional the IRS saw fit to reset my W2 start year to 1977. Guess they can’t have any American under 15 on a W4.
The 1973 Brotherhood crew was a heck of a crew. They were carpenters, electricians, masons, etc. Many worked as cooks when it opened for the day (7am - I know I was the morning cleanup crew). It was a great restaurant back then.
Working class came over to the island during the summer and particularly on the weekend.
“Mr. Barneke” (pronounced “Baaaahnikey) was the big rich guy back then. Seemed to own 1/4 of the island.
When I visited this year I didn’t even even recognize the Brotherhood’s menu. I guess it’s Billionaire fare now, unpronounceable names from unrecognizable plants and animals.
The town wouldn’t let Arty put “of Thieves” on anything but the menu. So islanders called it The Brotherhood for decades. Probably still do.
I asked my brother WTF happened to the island since I left. All the development in downtown. His answer “junk bonds”.
Yes, I noticed there were tons of places owned by trusts foundations, etc. Whereas when I was a kid that was ‘the Chase’s house’ etc. <<<Actual original descendant there. He was my class at school on Academy lane. Great kid, super mellow. I guess when your ancestor ate a Coffin (another founding family) you gotta stay low key for some generations.
All these houses I knew with nice lawns frequently seem to have several multi story houses on them. Just how in the F did that get passed? I guess the HDC and Selectmen are more interested in property tax receipts than preservation.
I never expected the issue that split the Democrats would be the "Jewish question".
