$2.79 a gallon but what is diesel? Have you noticed it is going up? How do you think goods get shipped to your area? I can remember when diesel was always cheaper than gas. The game is to hoodwink the public.

I have read that gas degrade the longer it is stored? The use of gas stabilizers is recommended. Also, gasoline with ethanol (E10 or E85) has a shorter useful life if not kept completely sealed from the outside air, as water from the air will be absorbed by the ethanol and contaminate the gasoline. Comment?

Have had mower in shop twice this year, both times told it was due to the ethanol additive. Never used to be a problem until about a couple of years ago. I asked what a solution might be and was told buy ethanol free gas. It's a LOT higher price but going to try that.

Shop says they buy their gas for testing etc near daily so it doesn't deteriorate.

That's all I know !!

I dont understand why the inconsistency.

Because they are not working in co-ordination with one another.

One company has one policy in one week. Next week, new corporate manager issues new policy. Fuel station across town is in a different district, has a different manager and hence different policy. A third station is owned by a different company, has different policy, etc.

Might as well complain about inconsistency in gas prices over time and generally: One year, it's $2.79 per gallon, next year it's $2.89 per gallon. Why, for heavens sake?

Regards,

Ahh, the good old days when you pumped however much you needed and went in and paid with cash

...and got a free 6-piece glassware set, to boot!

It’s to keep that $2.79/gal in place.
Raise the price and you get fewer
customers.
Where someone would only purchase
just enough gas at higher prices
that they can afford.
Are other stations offering the same
price?

Keep enough cash on hand hidden in the truck to fill that reserve tank.

So - did you also empty the shelves of toilet paper during the early covid days?

You sir, should have T.W.A.T. tattooed on your forehead as a warning to others.

Because it is a relatively free market and station owners are free to set their own limits?

I was getting the Florida boat ready for the water yesterday and stopped at the local Wawa to fill it up (way cheaper than on the water).

Using their app to save some money the limit was $175 per transaction, so I had two transactions on one tank and I needed two for the other. They didn’t let me do the 4th one through the app, so I had to use my credit card directly. In the end it came to about $600

Oh, I had to switch pumps because the hose wouldn’t reach to both tanks from the same pump.

I prefer the good old days when you stayed in your car and they pumped the gas, checked the oil and tires and washed the windows then made change at you car window.

except for the arab oil embargo, you could always buy whatever you could afford too.

I’m not the one bitching because I can’t pump an extra 50 gallons of gas when it gets cheaper - if everyone tried that, a lot of people would be unable to get back and forth to work.

Maybe you should consider an “ASSHAT” tat...
