I’d bet money the swarm of locusts weren’t from the neighborhood. More than likely...invaders from a local Americanized, government supported barrio.

In the 50s leaving some of your own candy in an empty bowl would have been a fairly common reaction, conditioning children is an accumulation of 1000s of messages and in the 50s the positive behavior messages were constantly repeated in every way and in everything, and every day, everything you read, everything you watched, everything that was said to you was always, be good, be thoughtful, be helpful, be humble and honest, help little old ladies, stick up for what is right,

In other words, don’t be a Mr. Bungle

We live at the very end of a culdesac and have a pretty long driveway. We usually have a decent number of kids with parents watching from the street, or they walk up with the littlest ones. We still wait for the doorbell to ring and for the kids to announce “trick or treat”. I love seeing all the costumes that they come up with!

Yes, I live in Mayberry. I don’t know how the town council manages to keep “progress” coming more slowly than in other towns, but we sure enjoy it here!

I know this will soon be changed by the influx of illegals. Probably will happen next year or the year after. Halloween behavior will be one of the tells.

Another take: These parents are trash

The Japanese convenience store at about 2:45 is nuts.

From which sh**hole country did the locusts in the first video come?

We never leave our candy outside. It WILL be stolen. How come it took that guy so long to catch on and he STILL hasn’t caught on. He got lucky one year and thinks it is a trend.

This sentence from the article perfectly expresses it: “The third-world mentality, one obviously ingrained in the people in the first video, as well as all the migrants pouring into the country now, is one I absolutely despise. It’s totally at odds with the ethos of the Judeo-Christian culture that has played a monumental role in creating the greatest country in the history of the world, and the attitude of these people perfectly fits with the greed that compels them to caravan north for “free” stuff”.

“””””I’d rather have an ethnic candy thief, than a white guy mass shooter.”””””

Whites are greatly underrepresented in mass shootings.

Same here. There were even some golf carts chugging around, with parents watching the kids. I sat on our large front porch handling out the candy. The kids coming up gave me a glimmer of hope that tomorrow’s grownups might not be all bad.

Our kids our grown, but my wife still loves seeing little kids dressed up. There were a couple years where we left candy outside. Everyone was respectful and only takes a piece or two - even teenagers

But then again, we live in a 200 year-old suburban working/middle-class town in New England that's 96% white, local families have 7th generation grandparents in the local cemetery, and hasn't got many immigrants or new-comers (except doctors or professionals looking to get away from the city)

There is also the idea that Halloween is demonic and really shouldn’t be celebrated at all. Typing this as I crunch on bags of chips leftover. :)

I would not leave candy outside either. But, I blame the left for luring people from poor countries who are promised handouts. These are the people who will be reliable democRAT voters; the permanent, dependent underclass. The capable and productive members of these countries are likely a very small minority of the ones coming here illegaly.

Zero here too. Neighborhood I grew up in during the 1970s. There used to be kids all over the place. It is so quiet at times it is eerie.

Those Hillary-loving impersonators of mothers should have their heads shaved and be paraded throughout town wearing, “I Am a Thief” signs, just as happened in post-war France.

Finding examples of incidents that agree with your preconceived notions are not proof, or even strong evidence.

It is true that not all "incidents" provide strong evidence, but competent investigators certainly do not disregard "incidents" that are consistent with their theory of the event; they know pursing such incidents may well lead to strong evidence.

See also Skwor's helpful analysis of your post at #35.

If you are afraid to open your door then turn off all the lights and/or go out for the evening. But sheesh, to leave a bunch of candy out unattended? You can blame the trick or treaters all you want, they don’t care. And you have seen enough Black Friday at Walmart videos to know what to expect. So it is up to you. It’s simple. Leave food out, expect the local wildlife.

My 90 yo mom is afraid. She is frail and easily chilled. I am 67 and not “afraid”.
