They need to own part of the airline.
This is unconscionable. There is no excuse for this and they could have delayed their schedule a little bit to find a wheelchair and get the guy off the plane.
It probably would have taken less time than making him do it himself.
Idk how things work in Canada but I’d get out of my seat and help the man.

I call BS on that. I'm pretty sure that airlines have a wheelchair ready when they know a flight is coming in with a disabled person on it. Which they had to know since he was wheeled onto the plane.
Also, as another FReeper noted, weren't there ANY real men on the plane to help?
The only thing in doubt is how big will be the check that Air Canada writes to him. In addition to the check I would demand free first class tickets for he and his wife for the rest of their life. This man was humiliated unnecessarily.

If the disabled passenger calls one of the stewardi an off color name, he would have been assisted by a TSA.

Meanwhile. Fatties in US airports are shuttled around with personal servants in wheel chairs. Most disgusting thing I saw was at the Denver international immigration / customs warehouse where one fatty after another was shuffled to the head of the line in from of hundreds of people who had been waiting for two hours.
I am leery of this story though... There always seems to be more to these stories.
I have a somewhat famous comedian friend who has palsy, and flies frequently. He usually has a hard time getting any beer on flights coz they think he’s already drunk. He works that stuff into his act, but it happens often.
Well now, you know planes are NEVER delayed... (Eye roll)
He should have yelled out to His friend “Hi Jack, could You please help find a wheelchair ?”
That would gotten a fire lit under someone’s A$$ !!!
Prepare to get your A$$ $UED OFF air canada !!!
And the settlement should include that there be at least one (1) Wheelchair AT EVERY GATE, ALL THE TIME IN THE ENTIRE WORLD THAT air canada provides service.
