Squad member Ilhan Omar dismissed a reporter who was questioning her calls for an Israel ceasefire as a 'crazy lady.'
The Representative for Minnesota was being pressed on her views about the conflict in the Middle East by Fox Business reporter Hillary Vaughn in Capitol Hill on Friday.
Omar, 41, ignored the journalist's questions as she entered an elevator and told a staffer: 'Ignore this crazy lady, don't worry about her.'
It came on the same day she issued an impassioned plea aimed at President Joe Biden and his leadership over their support for Israel in the war against Hamas.
Omar has called for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza and humanity and freedom for Palestinians.
Reporter Vaughn approached Representative Omar and asked: 'Congresswoman, you have called for a ceasefire -are you okay with Hamas terrorists continuing to exist?'
The politician did not answer and continued walking but the journalist added: 'Do you think that Israel should just lay down their arms and not try to get the hostages out of Gaza?
'How can Israel have a ceasefire with terrorists whose entire mission is to wipe out their existence?'
A staff member then asked Vaughn to move away from the elevator door as she was blocking it.
But Omar told him: 'Ignore this crazy lady do not worry about her.'
The Congresswoman also appeared at a press conference outside Capitol Hill alongside other members of the 'Squad' including Representatives Summer Lee and Ayanna Pressley.
'How is it that we have a president who is talking about releasing hostages, who is talking about getting American citizens out of Israel, but could not get himself to say, "I want to save and work to save the hundreds, thousands of Americans stuck in Gaza",' Omar said. 'What is wrong with you?'
