Oct. 13 (UPI) -- A Seattle woman with a collection of 5,631 rubber ducks said she originally intended to quit collecting with only seven of the toys.
Charlotte Lee, 54, said she bought her first rubber ducks in 1996 to decorate her bathroom.
"I thought I would quit after I had seven but then friends would come over and see them," Lee told Guinness World Records. "Soon, I was getting them as gifts for my birthday, Christmas, whenever really!"
Lee now has 5,631 duckies, earning her the Guinness World Record for the largest collection of rubber ducks.
She said her collection is still growing.

I guess it’s better than being an old cat lady.
Whatever floats your...
“Those are yesterday’s duckies!”

She probably wears a mask while driving her car, too.
I like Jeep Ducking. We need more harmless nonsense in the world.
looks like agent 47 will pay her a visit
Well, that was weird. People on social media are strange.
Hoarding is already in her nature, so she goes for a sublime addiction here with the toys.
I used to save rubber bands and make balls, until I thought it was more pointless than fun.
I would still be collecting rocks, if I had a proper place to store and display them. I used to have several types of Granite, Shale and Gypsum, including Rose Gypsum, which is said to bring good luck to the owner.
They have medicine for that.
Shades of ‘The Long, Long Trailer’, one of my mom’s favorite movies (I enjoyed it, too). :)
My boss’ husband was in the local Rock and Gem Society. When they went on a rare vacation, he brought back a box of rocks to polish. Not on the scale of what Lucy had, of course!
That sounds like it would be a good movie to see. Sometimes, I’m in the mood to see an arty, quirky film that pops up for no good reason. Napoleon Dynamite was such a film.
I can’t really say what made me decide to go see it. Maybe I thought the title would be interesting, but in a silly way.
Oh, rubber ducks....thought it said...er, never mind.
It’s 1950s Americana with Lucy and Desi at their best. My mom said that the house trailer shows in California were just like the one shown in the movie. It’s a comedy but a bit more polished than the I Love Lucy shows, and, of course, in MGM color/style. They had to use a similar-looking heavier car to pull the 36-foot trailer up the steep mountain road, which is one of the best parts of the movie. I won’t babble any further, in case you decide to watch it sometime.
