Music video by Jeff Lynne's ELO performing Turn To Stone. (C) 2017 Big Trilby Records, under exclusive license to Columbia Records, a Division of Sony Music Entertainment
The folks in the audience are so happy - just happy to hear those sounds again. I love everything about Jeff and ELO. Underappreciated but loved - as proven by the crowd.
Not my favorite ELO song, but I love listening to ELO and Jeff Lynne. Saw them in concert in 82 or 83. Debuting the Time album. Would love the chance to see them again. Didnt think Lynne was still touring.
Not my fav either (Evil Woman, Telephone Line, etc. are better), but the crowd. Sheesh.
Best concert I ever went to in the 70s. They were the trend setters with light shows. :)
Never got into this band, but the sample you link here certainly points to some fine talent. The quick vocal break is extremely well done.
Yes, you have to be operating on a completely different plane to compose that kind of music. I couldnt do it, but so grateful there are those who can.
The absolute best live performance and one of the greatest shows I ever saw was ELO in 1978. I’ve seen some of the best but nothing came close to them.
Never got to see them. My concert days are pretty much done but ELO, a Styx Reunion, or any Boz Scaggs show in my area, and I’m out of retirement.
Great song, great band, great music.

Jeff Lynne is super talented.
Envious. Livin’ Thing was my favorite.
People obsess about the Beatles and the Stones, and yet there are UK bands like ELO and Supertramp that actually put out better stuff at times.
Jeff was a late Beatles producer I think. ELO is often thought of as what the Beatles would have become.
Not sure I agree with that, but that’s the thought.
I was right there with you at the same show. Perfect night! Saw him/them at Red Rocks, too. Wish I had snuck some pictures, back then!
I prefer ELO to the Beatles. I’m a youngin’ though.
I would say it was my favorite concert except that I saw Lynyrd Skynyrd at Lakeland Civic Center (FL) on Saturday. They played Sunday in South Carolina and then had the plane crash that night.
The best two concerts of my life, both in 1978. ELO and Queen. Queen played a 26 song set.
I was on the floor, center stage. I don’t remember exactly, but I think I was at about row 12. Great seats, but my company really sucked. I IGNORED the witch and enjoyed the show.
Unfortunately in the later years old fart bands just do not invest in the show production they did when they were hot long ago. So you might not get the extraordinary “blow you away” experience they used to give.
Music is good, but unfortunately it won’t have the same impact it did back when they did the extravagant light shows. The show they used to put on was absolutely incredible.
UK bands - I appreciate the Beatles and the Stones and I love them both.
The Stones w/ Mick Taylor were, well the best ever.
I liked early Beatles songs, but realized they all sounded the same. Rubber Soul and Revolver can’t be duplicated or surpassed, but they’re total studio jobs.
I listen to more Supertramp and ELO than either of than them now. ELO is so upbeat and Supertramp is pretty much sublime perfection.
That said, I’ll probably put on Sticky Fingers vinyl tonight, now that I think about it.
