I have family members in Bali wanting to travel to Dubai and then home to the USA.
Is that a wise route or even possible now with the War in Israel.
I think it's a bad choice. What do my Freeper friends suggest?
Are there travel restrictions in place?
Not a wise idea to go to any Muslim country right now.
I have heard from people who have been there that Dubai is one of those places where (at least during business hours) the Muslims pretend to not be psychopaths.

The following is just my opinion: No Islamic country is safe for Americans especially women right now. That said, the Dubai in the UAE is probably the safest of the lot. After all, the UAE is the only Muslim nation that condemned Hamas for the attack on Israel.
They’re in Bali and they want to travel to Dubai? Isn’t that like being in Chicago and wondering if it’s safe to travel to Detroit?

Excluding the war in Israel, my answer is that Dubai is safe for Americans, as long as they don’t ‘act like Americans’.
Even in moderate nations, you are still dealing with hatred of Christians, which is always bubbling right below the surface.
Bali is in Indonesia which is also muslim. Advise them to come home and advoid any muslim country.
Don’t go out at night, women go nowhere alone, don’t drink, dress modestly and keep a behaved attitude.
Pretty solid plan for everywhere, minus going out at night.

I personally will not travel outside the USA any more unless a dire situation requires it.
I personally will not travel to many places in the USA now unless same reasons.
It’s getting so that I won’t frequent a place of business that forbids firearms.
I hope I never have to use my personal protection but I don’t intend to be victimized because I did not have it very close by.

My kid is supposed to Israel a year from now. My gut tells me this battle may go on for a while.
Dubai should be OK to travel through. I wouldn’t hang out there too long. But that area is a major travel hub.
I’m concerned about our friends vacationing in Egypt right now. Haven’t heard if they cut the trip short. I imagine flights out got booked up pretty quickly.
And thus, the perfect terrorist target.
