When I saw the subject line, the thought that came to mind was “Shoeless Joe Jackson stepping out of the field of corn!”

Actually, I like this album. I saw Joe in a small club, sat at a table feet from his organ and glockenspiel
Prefer Laundromat Monday.
Bass part is a workout, It sounds like it was sequenced or recorded using a keyboard. There is argument on the net about that.
It’s a good album all around; nice coherent vibe and it still sounds unique today. Set him apart from all the other post-punk rockers as someone with real chops.
“Everything (Gives You Cancer)” is a hidden gem on that album that should have been a single.
I have seen about 6 times in small venue theaters. A great entertainer. “ China town “ one of my favorites

The only song I liked by JJ - video was catchy, too.
Summer in the City: Live in New York is a great album recorded at Joe’s Pub that is just a trio and features some of his songs with an interesting mix of covers.

After our kid coined it “tinkling piano”, that’s the first thing that comes to mind when I hear this song.
I have a special place for “Be my number two”. That had perfect timing for the woman situation in my life.

I like this song. Have it on my YouTube playlist. Jackson was, apparently, a one-hit wonder.
