I have to wonder. This song is just taking Petty’s song and making it sound like a billion other pop-country songs. It’s not BAD... bad would be interesting. (Oh, and I’m glad I misread the OP. A Bush singing country would probably make me barf.)

Some folks (including me) just prefer the female voice. But oh my goodness. Lara Trump either has a terrible singing voice or she was just off here.

So, yeah. I’ll stick with Tom Petty’s version, at least until Judy Collins covers this song.🙂

I’m an aficionado of cover songs. It’s always interesting to hear a different interpretation on a familiar song. Many times, I prefer a cover version to the original.

Yeah, I hate remakes of songs. Only exception is the song Will the Wolf Survive. I can’t decide whose version I like better, Waylon Jennings or Los Lobos?
