Saw this yesterday. It is one of the better documentaries, with lots of stills and footage that I haven’t seen before.
Another documentary footage: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aNjQJagpB-g

Ping ... save for later.
Lots of war and history documentaries for free on Tubi TV. Much Hitler, Nazis, World Wars, Germany, Russia. The usual big draws.
If Hitler had gotten into the Arts Academy, or some other art school, would he have turned out the way he did? I heard that he always wanted to go his own way and thought he was smarter than his teachers, so maybe he wouldn’t have lasted in art school and would have ended up back in the homeless shelters. If WWI never happened, though, Hitler wouldn’t have become what he became.
Untergang (Downfall) is the only documentary I need.
It is a good documentary.
A lot of it is the same background found in the opening chapters of Shirer’s “Rise and Fall of the Third Reich”.
Hitler was lazy, and a moocher. Lived off whatever was left of his mother’s money, and got a part of his father’s government pension, and a small government stipend. After the money ran out, he never looked for a real job like most people. Had problems fitting in with other people. Before being drafted in WWI, he lived in a men’s boarding house, and sold postcards he had painted scenes on. He was a control-freak, micro-managed the war, because he didn’t trust his Generals, or the advice they gave him. He got rid of anyone who didn’t strictly follow his orders. He thought himself a military genius, and of course, he was no such thing.
Documentary together with William Shirer’s “The Rise and Fall of the 3rd Reich” (whole chapters on hitler’s life as a boy, his Schickelgruber name, jewish heritage, his homelife his abusive father, his WWI military service as a courier and winning the Iron Cross from his jewish commanding officer). All of the book is well documented footnoted and cross referenced with actual correspondence between hitler and various thugs who worked with him, and the reactions of the Prussian officer class who were very sorry they ever supported him. His sex life is in their as well.
Another resource is the US intel full profile of hitler from WWII—compiled by the OSS, and a top psychiatrist. Predicted his suicide, claiming abandoned by the German People. Which is what he did- he said the surviving Germans were worthless- the ones dying for him... his legacy. A true lunatic and major incompetent misdirecting Germany’s resources to the detriment and loss of a war they could have won— had it not been for the Holocaust and slave labor for Krupp, Thyssen and IG Farben to name 3 major corporations.
‘dolf was a fun guy until he joined the WEF.
thks
Interesting history post. Thanks!
One of the best but creepiest, dark documentaries I have seen.
