“Yeah. Jackie Mason had a line about paying $5 for burnt coffee in a paper cup.”

I’ll never get the reason behind the popularity of Starbucks. Burnt over roasted coffee in paper cups. Yet, the lines to get the stuff are long and awful. My lovely wife is hooked and at 100° she’s in line at Starbucks.

What is this sugar you refer to? I keep some in the cupboard I think for company. I bought it over 10 years ago, it doesn’t seem to go down until my SIL visits, he puts 16 teaspoons in a 12 oz cup of coffee. Horrible.

If I ever order iced tea from McD’s because I’m on the road, I ask for the “unsweetened” tea, with one sugar packet on the side. I use about half the packet in a large size tea.

McDonald’s unsweetened tea, common in most parts of the US, is fine

It is, and around here you can get it in a large cup for a buck.

According to a clerk at my local Starbuck’s, fewer than 10% of customers are ordering the crappy burnt coffee in a paper cup. They’re all standing in line to get one (or more) of those elaborate coffee-based desserts in a cup. It’s all whipped cream, caramel, chocolate chips, syrups, etc. Many of their customers aren’t even coffee drinkers.

“those elaborate coffee-based desserts in a cup. It’s all whipped cream, caramel, chocolate chips, syrups, etc.”

And that is another way women get fat.
Ok, some guys too, but thats a shameful way to do it. Beer is the manly way.

“Why are these little Tiked Off turds only attacking McDonalds? McDonalds and others need to start suing these retarded little freaks. If people want “Sweet Tea”, that’s their business. McDonalds has every right to sell it. Southerners have been drinking “sweet tea” for decades. McDonalds also has unsweetened tea. Get over it and stay the hell out of their business.”

BINGO. WELL SAID.

I’ve been drinking it for over 68 years and so far so good. But yes, as previously, one cup to a gallon. Tes we make it at home by the gallon!

I was weaned on sweet tea!

Meh. I used to work at a BBQ restaurant back in high school. We certainly had sweet tea, and if I remember correctly, it was a quart (1/2 gal?) scoop of sugar per 5gal dispenser. Two tea bags for sweet, one bag for the commie tea.

We often got compliments on it after I happened to make it, cause I usually did two scoops of sugar.
