ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — A male suspect was arrested on Wednesday after disguising himself as a woman during a SWAT standoff.
Agents from the Bernalillo County District Attorney's Office responded to Mission Hill Apartments on Menaul Boulevard NE to arrest David Flores after locating him. After refusing to leave a residence, the Bernalillo County Sheriff's Office SWAT team responded to assist in the arrest.
Flores attempted to use a disguise to appear as a female, according to a Facebook post on Bernalillo County District Attorney Sam Bregman's account. Photos in the post show Flores wearing a wig and pink top.
Flores was eventually taken into police custody after a standoff that lasted for hours. He was wanted for an aggravated assault with a firearm in December 2022.
Albuquerque Police Department officers responded to a foothills residence for a victim with a gunshot wound to the leg. That victim identified Flores to police and said he was there to grab personal items.
Flores was previously charged with felony charges in California and a felon in possession charge was added to the aggravated battery charge. During the shooting, Flores was wanted for failing to appear in court for shoplifting and controlled substance charges.

Please let the record show that this is NOT Florida Man
NOT Florida Man but maybe in spirit.
Serioiusly. I’m surprised this made it past the editor. The headline should read “Female Shooting Suspect Arrested”
“disguising as woman”
TSK TSK! what if he “identified” as a woman? what if he sues for “misgendering”?
Misgendering is when you make the Spanish word “casa” masculine.
It’s staggering how deluded someone can be to think that they are that big and masculine and still think they can fool people into believing that they are a woman.
