AOC says she's 'concerned' Biden might derail a bipartisan push to study psychedelics since he's regressive on cannabis

Democratic Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez said she's worried that President Joe Biden may derail a bipartisan push to address psychedelics due to his past rhetoric that questioned cannabis usage.

"I am concerned about the president," Ocasio-Cortez of New York told The Washington Post's Ben Terris.

Ocasio-Cortez said that her fears about Biden's approach to mind-altering drugs which have been gaining broader public acceptance are rooted in how he has talked about marijuana in the past.

"I believe the president has displayed a regressiveness for cannabis policy," she said. "And if there's a regressiveness toward cannabis policy, it's likely to be worse on anything else."

The New York Democrat is trying to remove federal limits on scientific research for psychedelics that have blocked further study of the drugs.

While the White House did not comment on the record to Terris, he recounted the president's mixed approach to cannabis policy. As recently as 2019, the then-presidential hopeful said marijuana could be "a gateway drug" generating some groans from a Las Vegas crowd.

"The truth of the matter is, there's not nearly been enough evidence that has been acquired as to whether or not it is a gateway drug," Biden said during a town hall event. "It's a debate, and I want a lot more before I legalize it nationally. I want to make sure we know a lot more about the science behind it."

As president, he's promised to pardon anyone in federal prison for simply possessing marijuana, though there are limitations to his pledge.

Gropin' Joe knows psychedelics. The bartender should stick to serving Bud Light.

Drunks, Dopers, and Psychedeliacs driving around — what could possibly go wrong?

The world is falling apart, wars and rumors of wars, and the Democrats are only interested in illegal drugs.

AOC needs to spend more time contemplating her garbage disposal.

Feed Joe some gummy bears, and give him a couple of gallons of ice cream. Problem solved.

Well he had cocaine in the Situation Room. Perhaps he has evolved. Like he did on gay marriage after the election.

That’s one of my biggest beefs - we have only 7.59 years until the ENTIRE PLANET is no more according to the bartender. What the heck is she messin’ with this for? Shouldn’t she be out there trying to find ways to reduce her own destructive carbon footprint? Time to bus a move!

Would your opinion change if you knew Matt Gaetz is a co-sponsor of this legislation and agrees with AOC on the need to study psychedelics because it’s true

“Study” psychedelics. Like they studied covid. The left destroyed scientific credibility.

I works...

Besides... If liberals want to get high and jump off buildings that is a good thing. Why would anyone want to discourage or stop them?

I am a low-end landlord. Virtually everyone I’ve had to evict had a drug problem. It’s tragic to witness. But I have a mortgage to pay. Here’s the things I’ve noticed.

Everyone I’ve evicted had tattoos.
Everyone I’ve evicted had lost their job, most likely due to the drugs.
So far I’ve had three of my women renters end up in prison. Two of them had children. None of the men have ended up in prison, at least not during the eviction.
The people I’ve evicted have a wildly distorted view of reality. A couple of them sounded bat-shit crazy.
From the time I’ve noticed a drug issue to eviction is usually about six months. Each month the rent is later, and the stories are weirder.
None of them can manage money. One spent his entire rent on lottery tickets and when he cashed them in he had “won” about twenty percent of it back. (That sort of money management.) Several of them abandon hundreds of dollars’ worth of stuff and ALL of them have WAY more “stuff” than I have; huge flat screen TV’s, extra wheels for their car/truck, huge amounts of clothing and jewelry, etc.

BTW, I always tell them when I’m coming over, but still I’m likely to find a four-foot-tall bong on the dining table. (Which I don’t notice.)

One worries most about their own pocketbook. What they can steal and the narcotics trade is what fuels the demoncrats.. PARTY ON DUDE..!
