Mom of teen bought tickets from Craigslist
Thousands of Swifties were packed inside Ford Field for Taylor Swift’s one of two concerts in Detroit.
Not among them, though, were four teenagers from Berkley after falling victim to a ticket scam of $1,200.
“This is the first time I haven’t been able to get tickets to a concert,” said one of the girl’s moms, Lisa Turner.
Turner went to Craigslist and found four tickets to Taylor Swift’s Friday (June 9) show at Ford Field.
They were priced at $300 apiece.
“(The seller) Had a big story about why he wasn’t able to use the tickets and wanted them to get in the hands of fans,” Tuner said.
The seller sent her the first ticket before Turner sent the payment.
“I thought that I was then preventing the scams that I heard about,” Turner said.
He transferred four tickets to her Apple Wallet for $1,200. The teens were ecstatic when their parents told them they were going to Friday’s concert.
Then came the tears.
“There was crying when we found out we got them and then crying when we found out we didn’t have them,” one of the girls said.
Turner felt something was off and took the tickets to the Ford Field box office Thursday for verification.
“They actually took the phone back and had to look it up on their computer system, brought supervisors in, and said they were some of the best tickets they’d ever seen, but they were fake,” Turner said.
Turner filed a police report and made a claim with Venmo and her bank.
In the end, it was the girls that lost the most as they were on the hook for the money.
“Now it’s like very, very disappointing that we have to work for all this money that we didn’t get anything for,” one of the girls said.
Good, maybe they’ll improve their taste in music.

“...they were some of the best tickets they’d ever seen, but they were fake...”
If you are going to be ripped off, be ripped off by the best.
Even if I don’t like the music, I don’t like seeing scammers run wild.
I was thinking the same thing.
“At least you didn’t fall for tickets some guy printed out on his dot matrix.”

$300 for a ticket?
Taylor Swift is a good looking gal, but I wouldn’t pay $300 for a even a private performance ....’with happy ending’.
Oh, yes you did.
You received a valuable life lesson.
Haha
In an unrelated video I saw they showed a guy who went to a Taylor Swift concert …why? I don’t know maye with someone.
Anyway he tried to go urinate and video taped it. I kid you not there was a line of women at least 50 long…to the MENS room.😹
💦💦💦
“Good, maybe they’ll improve their taste in music.”
Maybe it has someting toi do with why they got scammed in the first place. I’ll bet a dollar to a doughnut that you didn’t have this kind of thing happening to fans of Steely Dan.
Why were the four girls on the hook when the mother screwed up?
I was in the concert biz back in the day. Worked with the likes of The Rolling Stones, The Who, Journey etc.I can tell you that bathroom scenario was not that unusual. I actually got called on the radio one time to check out exactly that situation. We were at a 9-10,000 capacity facility & the restrooms could only handle so much traffic at once. So many women lined up it was reaching the point of up rising. We got a few security people to control access to the men's room for X amount of women on & off with men to thin down the line. Just another day in rock n roll paradise. ;O)
I wonder how much if at all, Lisa encourages her daughter to do things with her life that aren't shallow and superficial.
Anyone with half a brain should know that’s the risk you take with scalpers. It should be considered gambling. And you don’t gamble more than you can lose.
Any guy who goes to a Taylor Swift concert should get his Man Card revoked.
Want to see the show ? Get a job at the venue. Problem solved
That should've been a red flag right there.
The "legit" scalpers on the legit scalping (aka reseller) sites are charging $1400 for a single Taylor Swift ticket --and these are in the nosebleeds behind the stage.
Want to see Swift in Section N, front row (where she spends much of the show)? These are $3k/ticket. --and that's pretty cheap compared to other shows.
This sold-out tour has been a disaster for the real Swift fans. Ticketmaster broke and resellers gobbled everything up. And they're getting rich.
