Ukrainian Army is being expanded by a new brigade, 44th Mechanized Brigade. The unit is currently at the stage of formation. As photos on social media suggest, it’s one of the Polish-trained Ukrainian brigades.The brigade received military number A4723 and at least one battalion is equipped with Polish-donated BMP-1 infantry fighting vehicles.

The governor of Belgorod Oblast, Vyacheslav Gladkov, proposed to join Kharkiv Oblast to his oblast. Kharkiv Mayor Ihor Terekhov called this proposal delusional.

DETAILS: Gladkov stated that the best way to solve the “problem of shelling” in his region is to “join Kharkiv Oblast [to Belgorod Oblast]”.
QUOTE from Terekhov: “It’s funny to hear that. Belgorod Oblast is perceived in Kharkiv exclusively as “BPR” (”Belgorod People’s Republic”). Therefore, let the delusions he expressed be a comfort to him.”
MORE DETALS: Terekhov recalled that Russian troops tried to seize Kharkiv from the very beginning of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine, but they almost completely withdrew from the region in September of last year.
QUOTE: “For reference, I can remind you that, if you take the population of Belgorod, it is only [the size of] one district of Kharkiv. Also, for a bit of history: once upon a time there was Kharkiv Oblast, which included the city of Belgorod. We will not go into that. According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, about 80 Russian soldiers deserted in the occupied Lysychansk, Luhansk Oblast, and about 30 Wagner mercenaries fled in the Bakhmut area.

DETAILS: The General Staff also informs that forced passportization of Ukrainian citizens is underway in the temporarily occupied Nyzhni Sirohozy district of Kherson Oblast. In particular, the Russian occupiers constantly put pressure on the locals, threaten deportation and confiscation of property.
“Yes, local citizens with a Ukrainian passport, driver’s license and technical passport for a vehicle are threatened with confiscation in case of refusal to obtain Russian documents,” the report states.

The first issue is the front. Zaluzhnyi [Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine – ed.], Syrskyi [Commander of Ground Forces], and Tarnavskyi [Commander of operational-strategic group of troops Tavriia] reported on the general operational situation and specific areas.
The second issue: manning new offensive brigades and ensuring fast logistics. Reports of the Ministry of Defence, Ministry of Infrastructure and Ministry of Strategy and Industry were about this issue.
The third issue: new contracts for the supply of additional missiles, additional air defence equipment, analysis of the work of air defence in recent days, assessment of the damage caused.
DETAILS: Zelenskyi added that appropriate decisions have been made “on all issues”.
